Flipping eBay pick-ups with a couple simple steps! In today’s episode of Restorations with Vick Almighty, he will walk you through exactly how to clean and restore one of the most iconic colorways or all time!
This restoration wasn’t as routine to Vick; since he never worked on this color before the color matching was going to be tough. The main steps of this restoration would be cleaning, unyellowing, and a quick repaint!
To kick off the restoration you have to start with a clean slate. To take care of this cleaning we relied heavily on RESHOEVN8R products. One great thing about these sneakers is that we didn’t see a lot of color bleed while cleaning that upper material. We did choose to wash these in the laundry system. When buying used sneakers it is always a great idea to give them the deepest clean possible with the Laundry System.
After the shoe was clean and disinfected it was time to move over to removing the nasty yellowing. To do this it took a couple coats of Sole Revive and 4500W of UV rays. Luckily it only took about 5 days to get the results Vick wanted.
Now we move onto the tricky part… The repainting process! With this process comes a lot of taping and prep work by removing the paint that was previously on the shoe. Once Vick has the perfect paint mix all that’s left to do is hand-paint it on the midsole! Painting it with a paintbrush rather than an airbrush allows him to be super precise.
With the midsole repainted, we are almost wrapped up in this restoration. The last step is to revive the suede using Mink Oil and a Horsehair brush. Now this 2017 pair is looking almost as good as the day it dropped… minus the bald spots on the suede that are not repairable.
Overall Vick killed this restoration…. What is one shoe he has never restored that you want to see!?

What's up everybody for today's project We got these 2017 UNCC 6es the UNCC Colorway is one of the most iconic Colorways throughout jumman history but This specific shoe is going to have its Challenges I never worked on this Colorway before so matching that blue is Going to be tricky it's going to need a Full mile repaint there's a lot of deep Yellowing on the sneaker the ERS need a Good clean and possibly a redy we got a Lot of work ahead of us so let's get Started as always you guys we're going To be working on one shoe only for Before and after purposes so I think I'm Going to put the left one to the side Next I'm going to take out the lace and Inso to clean those up [Music] Separately I did get these shoes from EBay looking at the shoelaces I'm not Exactly sure if they're original Sometimes that happens when I buy shoes From eBay that's okay I'm going to clean Them up anyway check on Google to match Them to see if they're original if not I'll get some other laces next we're Going to go to the air compressor to Blow off all the surface dust from the Shoe including the inside with a little Bit of help from the soft bristle brush We'll be right Back [Music]
[Music] Just by using the soft bristle brush and The air compressor it made a huge Difference the shoe is back to being Black it's going to be an easy clean we Still have to give this shoe a good Scrub so let's start by squiring some Solution in ins our bowl of water and Inserting our shoe tree to eliminate the Creasing and reshape the [Music] Sneaker all prepped ready to go we're Going to be using the stof braal brush First to break down the grime and dirt On the uppers and the [Music] Insides [Music] All done with the S BR brush uppers look Great the back to be in Black we give The insights a good scrub now let's move On to the medium bristle brush to take Care of the mle the back tab and the [Music] Tongue Everything looks good so far uppers and Ms look great now for the SS we're going To be using the S bristle brush we got To get these as clean as possible we are Going to be using so revive in order for That to work properly these got to be [Music] Clean pre-treatment is complete Everything looks looks great we still
Got to take care of the insole and Lace This is going to be easy cuz they're Black once we're good with that we'll Put everything inside our Sinker laundry Bag put them in the washing machine with A detergent pot to complete the [Music] Cleaning to the washing [Music] Machine cleaning process is complete Shoe looks great inside and out let's Keep it moving the outo have a lot of Yellowing that we got to get rid of so We're going to be using some reuven s Viive and the V 2000 to get rid of it We're going to be applying a nice than Even coat all across the outsole we're Going to put it inside for several days I'm guessing about four or 5 days is Going to do the trick every single day In the morning I'll apply a new coat and Let us sit there for the rest of the [Music] [Music] Day [Music] [Music] Got this shoe out of the Vic 2000 after Day two these look really great a lot of The yellow wings fully out it's still Not quite there yet but I'm going to Take a break from the vi 2000 so we can Work on the mental repaint there's a lot Of scuffs all around the so specifically
On the black there is some cracking on The blue in order to do this MSO repaint Correctly we got to wipe off all the old Paint first we're going to do some Taping on the SOS and [Music] Uppers all taped up it's super important To tape up the clear sole areas Sometimes when you mix paint with Acetone and it gets on those areas it Stains it and it's not going to come off Just wipe off the paint with some Acetone and cotton balls [Music] Paint is off that was really easy now We're going to take off the tape and ret Tape as is this tape drop is not good we Got to remove it ret tape to make it Perfect before we lay down some Paint all taped up so looks good for the Upper I just taped off the blue areas For the black areas I'm a freehand we're Going to be laying down the blue color First I had to custom mix this tone to Get the perfect mix I use three Different colors University Blue mellow 2 blue and white from angelist I started With the university blue but I had a Purple Hue to it so I added some mellow To Blue but it was still too dark so Then I added some white to get the Perfect Cube now I'll L you down with The [Music]
Paintbrush [Music] Blue is nice and solid now we're on to The fun part the black we're going to be Creating all the sharp lines all around First before we lay down the majority of The Black [Music] Paint job is complete lines look really Crispy now we're going to go outside and Give it a mat finish to protect the Paint [Applause] [Music] Job right now we're taking off the tape I'm going to apply some more sore Vive Onto the sauce and put them back in B [Music] 2000 all right we got the shoe out of The V 2000 once again these are the Final results these look awesome all That yellowing came out for the most Part it's at a good State it's as good As it's going to get I left them in There for a good 5 days any more than That I don't think I'll get any more Results this is thanks to our Rejuvenated Sor Vive and the V 2000 the Sor Vive is great for two different Things for removing yellowing off clear Souls and yellowing on white rubber next We're going to lace the shoe up so we Can spray some mink oil as is the shoe
Is pretty ashy originally I thought the Shoe was going to need a redy but after The cleaning the shoe doesn't need it Anymore it's pretty dark overall but Right now it's a little ashy there are Some ball spots in certain areas for Those issues you can fix it is what it Is but after we lace it up we'll spray Some mink oil all around the sneaker We'll brush it in with our horsehair Brush and we'll get a nice even black All [Music] Around time for some in [Music] [Music] Oil [Music] All right guys that's going to bring us To an end on these 2017 UNCC Jordan 6es Just looking at these two it's a night And day difference the befores are super Dusty ashy all around mle paint is Completely scuffed off on the SS heavy Yellowing now for The Afters complete Opposite it the opas look great they're Back to black and they're reconditioned With our rejuvenator mink oil same thing For the midsoles we got rid of all the Scuffs color matched it on point and all The lines look perfect and lastly after A few days using our ruven Sor Vive and The V 2000 we got the souls back to icy Don't forget you guys I'm still looking
