It’s 2024 and you’re still sleeping on eBay pick ups?! Let this be your first or 100th sign that picking up used shoes is a game changer!
In today’s episode or Restorations with Vick Almighty he takes on these trashed Tinker Air Jordan 3’s that he picked up for $50 on eBay. They came in dirty, hevily worn and with some heavy oxidation. The main goal of this video is to teach you 3-4 tips and tricks to use on all of your used shoe pick ups.
First tip: ALWAYS clean your used shoes.. You never know where the previous owners feet have been. We started by breaking down the dirt and grime with the air compressor first before moving over to the 3 different brushes and all natural solution. The Soft and Medium Brush were used to tackle the uppers, insides, insoles and the midsoles. By using the brush method Vick is able to not only remove the grime, but this is the first step to disinfecting the sneaker.
Once the uppers were taken care of it was time to move onto the heavily worn outsoles using the Brass Bristle brush. This slept on product is the key for removing gunk, grime and more. However, it is also a perfect way to reset the nap on suede and nubuck sneakers that have hardened. Then we put them in our super high tech washing machine.. From the early 2000’s to remove the rest of the grime and fully disinfect the sneakers. Now there was a chance of bleeding, but luckily the quality of these kicks proved us wrong.
Next step is the prep; we had to remove some deep scuffs, old paint and tape up the sneaker before we could move on. Before we could move on we had to fix the sole separation. Since these shoes are heavily worn and about 7 years old separation is bound to happen. However, it isn’t the end of the world soles can be reglued!
With all that taken care of we needed to bring out another Reshoevn8r product… Sole Revive! Sole Revive is a perfect tool to remove oxidation. Vick used 3 different cycles due to multiple angels needing a little bit of attention in the Vick 2000. This box is built of over 1500W of UV rays that you can pick up on Amazon. Once that was taken care of it was time to remove the creasing using the iron method.
With all those steps out of the way it was time for a quick repaint before we could say we were fully happy with the results. Vick used Angelus paint to repaint the midsole on this Jordan 3. Plus he shared some great tips through the way… Did you watch this to learn?!
Last steps are all about the details from adding more shine to the air unit and touching up the tiniest little scuff on the uppers. Now this $50 sneaker is completely flipped and ready to sell to the next person. Stay tuned for more insane eBay restorations with Vick!

Cleaning kit I'm going to take out the Laces and inso to clean those up Separately then we're going to go next Door use your compressor to off any Surface dust on the inside and outside Of the Shoe good to go with the pre-treatment Before the pre-treatment next we're Going to grab our Sho tree I'm going Adjust it the size and insert it inside The sneaker right now there's a lot of Creasing going on the shape is off the Shoe tree will help eliminate that for The insole and the lace these will get Cleaned up separately so I'm put these To the side next we we got our 4 oz Bottle solution all we need is two Squirts inside our bowl of Water now to do this cleaning right I'm Going to be using all three brushes soft Medium and stiff I might be using the Brass bristle brush on these soles Depending how deep that Grime really is To get things going I'm going to use a Soft bristle brush on the uppers and Insides to start breaking down the grime And dirt Good to go with the soft bristel brush It broke down all the grimming dirt on The inside and the uppers now I'm going To kick it up a notch and get a deeper Scrub using the medium bristle Brush all right so far so good uppers And insides look great thanks to the
Medium bristle brush real quick while I Have the medium brush out I'm going to Take care of the insole All finished with the medium bristle Brush did the trick now these SES are Pretty worn down there's a lot of heavy Wear and tear all around there's Grime Deep inside this rubber I was going to Use the S Bristol brush it will do the Trick but to make things easier I'm Going to be using the brass Bristol Brush this is going to make things a lot More easier let's put in some solution And give these a good scrub Pre-treatment is almost complete Everything's been easy so far last step Is the laces I'm going to use the Leftover water and solution to give These a good Scrub last step is to put the shoe Inside the washing machine my only Concern is is the black elephant print There's a good chance it'll bleed all Over the shoe or at least the stitching On the toe cap let's see what Happens to the washing Machine so check it guys our old Samsung Washing machine took a on us so we Went on the market and bought a used one This will do the trick for now however Our brand new one top of the line should Be here any moment now just put it Inside I'll be honest this is all Confusing we'll figure it out this is
Important this is going to make the Cleaning on Point looks right Cold I think two Rines one rinse two Rinse second Rin whatever Regular pre-wash soak Ultra Clean does This thing even work [Laughter] Good to go with the cleaning process of These Jordan 3s thanks to the washing Machine and the rejuvenator signature Shoe cleaning kit this shoe looks great Once the cleaning was all done I put Them outside underneath the sun let them Dry got some great results the one thing That I'm glad about is that there was no Bleeding from the black elephant print Anywhere on the white areas of the shoe That worked out great now we still have A lot of work to go on this restoration First things first is prep work all this Paint on the M so's got to come off There's a lot of cracking going on I Can't paint over that cuz it'll look bad And the paint underneath will crack Causing the paint on the top of it to Crack as well so I got to go in wipe it All off with some acetone and conon Balls but first i'm going to tape off The Uppers all taped up the main goal is to Not get any acetone on the uppers let's Remove the old paint Ms are fully stripped getting the paint
Off the specific Jordan 3 took forever The Jordan 3's from this era 2017 2016 Are impossible to get off because of the Finish they use but you just have to do A lot of scrubbing take your time to get The paint off don't overdo it because The acetone and cottonballs can damage The polyan so keep that in mind my next Focus is the toe c cap it's clean thanks To the Brass PR brush and solution but There are some deep stains all around The rubber I Tred using headstone to Wipe it off but it's on there good the Only way to get the stains off from the Rubber is by shaving off that top layer Using some 800 gr Sandpaper these shoes are heavily worn Down specifically the rubber but after Doing that step we eliminated the Stained rubber all that's left to do is Remove the yellowing all around the Rubber but we'll do that in just a bit Next step we got to fix the separation There isn't too much of it we got some On both sides one in Here and one on the opposite side first We're going to tape off the upper then With some an Stone and cotton balls We're going to go in there wipe off the Old glue and then we'll get ready for Some new Glue got the inside of the separation Fully prepped I went ahead and removed The tape ret taped it with some fresh
Clean tape now we're going to be using Some bar super stick I'm going to apply A thin layer of glue on both sides of The separation using a paintbrush after That I'll quickly remove the tape hold The separation apart so the glue can Cure in about 10 minutes I'll heat it up And stick everything together glue job Is complete no issues with that before We get onto the painting on the uppers And the mids let's take care of the Yellowing there's a ton of yellowing Going on in the toe caps the bottom the Soles and just all around for this to Work out I'm going to put him in the vi 2000 in three different sessions one Facing this way one facing the opposite Side and one for the bottom side we got To get rid of all this yellowing so We're going to be using rejuvenator Sora Vive Good to go removing the oxidation from The rubber so this is a day and night Difference I put them in the in setup For 6 hours on each side I'm pretty sure The vi 2000 would have got the job done With Just 2 hours on each side but I had Some time to kill and I wanted to make Sure I got rid of all the yellowing These look good from every angle Including the bottoms let's keep it Moving we do have some creasing on the Toe box I'm going to eliminate it using The iron method it's pretty simple I'm
Going to stuff the toe boox with some Towels then with the wet rag I'm going To place it over the toe box then with The iron I'm going to iron it out you Want to make sure this is wet otherwise It'll burn the leather good to go with The iron method in order for this to Hold its shape in about 10 minutes I'm Going to pull them out once it's all Cooled down then I'm going to put the Shoe treat back inside and it should Look perfect after [Music] That all right toe boox looks great Let's get on to the midsole first let's Do some taping shoes are all taped up First color I'm going to lay down is Some Angela flat white with a paintbrush On the bottom portion of the M sole [Music] White paint is fully solid this took About seven coats I let it fully dry now I'm going to cover that up so we can lay Down the black the trick to getting nice Sharp lines all around is to use clean Tape on the edges and use big long Strips to get a consistent line all [Music] Around airbrushing can be a lot easier When repainting midsoles now the reason I'm using the airbrush to lay down the Black as opposed to using a paintbrush Like I did with the white base coat is Because the airbrush is a lot faster and
I won't have to worry about brush Strokes midal repaint is complete Black Looks solid same thing with the white we Got nice sharp lines all around now to Complete the paint job we're going to go Outside and spray some MTH finish to Seal it freaking bright Mid repaint is complete the one thing That's bothering me is the air units They're a little dull they're supposed To be see-through and shiny however when I was removing the paint asone got in There and removed all that shine looks Kind of ugly to restore that I'm going To be using some Angeles high gloss Finish with a small detail brush I'm Going to apply a couple of coats heat it Up and it should look back to [Music] [Applause] Normal finally last step you got to do Is take care of the leather there's a Huge scuff going on in the inside to Touch it up I'm going to use some Acetone and cotton balls to prep it then With some flat white paint and a small Detail brush we'll touch it up [Music] Last step got the laces all cleaned up Let's lace them Up all right guys that's going to bring Us to an end on this day and night Restoration of these Tinker half field Jordan 3s this was a straightforward
