???? TRIGGER warning: This cleaning is GOING to get messy! ????
The Adidas Sambas are one of the most popular shoes in the game right now; they are blowing up on Tiktok, Instagram and more! However, this pair looked like it had been ran through the dumpster, grocery store and the worst BBQ of all time. Oh wait… Nope they were just trashed by Megell as a present for whoever got to clean these up! In today’s Shoe Care Academy video we will walk you through a full tutorial on how to clean and sanitize the Adidas Samba while also showing you how to remove even the most disgusting stains!
These sneakers were originally supposed to be a PBR cleaning, but Jordan was the lucky employee that got tasked with this craziness. To start this cleaning off we had to use the sink, because this sticky mess wasn’t coming off with just some scrubbing. We headed to our drop off cleaning service to rinse the shoe before quickly realizing it did NOTHING! The raspberries, teriyaki, mustard, and maple syrup were stuck on the shoe after 24 hours of sitting. So we headed back to the studio to start with the brushing method. We scrubbed the entire uppers using the Soft Bristle Brush from the Signature Shoe Cleaning Kit. However, after about 20 minutes of scrubbing, and a couple tears we quickly realized we messed up! PSA mustard will stain your sneakers, so clean them IMMEDIATELY if you encounter a mustard drop. The highlighter yellowing staining was sticking out like a sore thumb on this white leather material, but we had to keep going. Next we moved over to the Medium Bristle Brush to clean the uppers one more time and to take care of the midsole. Finally it was time to bust out the Stiff Bristle Brush and scrub those outsoles with every once of elbow grease we had left.
Before they went in the washing machine we had to take care of the mustard stains, so we had to phone in some assistance. Finally we learned alcohol prep pads would be the best method to remove them to the best of our abilities, but it wasn’t perfect. Mustard stuck into that glue pretty hard and unfortunately we weren’t able to 100% remove the trapped in stain.
However, they looked better, so we moved onto the Laundry System. Not only did these need the laundry system to disinfect and clean the sneaker, but they smelled so bad that they needed all the help they could get. After one wash with Reshoevn8r’s Laundry Pods these were looking 100X better!
The last step was to repair the suede on the toe cap. The suede had been through it by getting dirty and then it was feeling super crunchy from the water and solution. To take care of this we relied on the Brass Bristle Brush to get the buttery suede texture we know and love.
But wait…. They still didn’t smell good even after a wash, so we needed to spray as much Deodorizer as we could into those shoes.
Just like that these BBQ gone wrong Sambas are looking A1! Thanks to RESHOEVN8R’s product line up Jordan was able to bring these back without a problem. Minus the trauma from the clean!

Bro y I heard you guys have a surprise For me Merry Christmas my boy bro Christmas was last year man what is that Barbecue sauce some Gizzy joints it's Your lucky day that's what it is my boy Nah man these are some SOS those are the White girl new Air Force Ones so we Going to pass those to Jordan Peace well the word on the street is That I'm the chosen one to clean these SAS I'm really not sure what I did to my Co-workers but apparently I am not their Favorite so for today's shoe care Academy episode we are going to be Cleaning up probably the hottest shoe on Tik Tok right now the Adidas somus They're covered in I honestly don't even Know smells like barbecue sauce mixed With teriyaki there's crushed Raspberries I don't know what Miguel did It's disgusting there's gats flying out Of the shoe for this cleaning we're Going to be using the rejuvenator Signature kit because these will 100% Need the washing machine to get this Awful smell out of Them and gloves because I'm not touching These now that we have the gloves on I Have to put on my apron so that I'm in The right attire for the disaster that Is about to happen we are not going to Be going straight into the three brushes With this we're going to take one Sneaker and wash it off in the sink to
Try to get as much of this Grime as Possible and we're going to be putting The other one far away from here take One more close look at these before I Rinse them off now these are absolutely Disgusting I'm going to set one aside We'll be rinsing off only this shoe for Before and after purposes now I don't Always recommend that you rinse your Sneakers off in the sink but if you have Co-workers like Miguel and Robert you Will definitely need to to remove all of This disgustingness that's on this [Music] [Music] Shoe that did a whole lot of nothing so We're going to be moving on to use our Three different brushes and all natural Solution try to get all of the sticky Mustard grime off of this sneaker and Then they will be going in the washing Machine so let's go back to the studio And see what these brushes can do all Right we got everything set up for our Cleaning station we have all the things We need in our signature cleaning kit Our three different brushes shoe tree Laundry bag microfiber towel our Cleaning solution and then we paired it With our cleaning mat drying raken bulk Combo and we also added an extra Microfiber towel because we're going to Need all the help we can get on these SAS now they dirtied the sneaker
Yesterday while I was in meetings and Then I got to come in it was all dried Crusted on here so honestly it's going To be a lot of work but we have to Remove our shoelaces insert our Adjustable shoe tree and get to Scrubbing before we do that did you know That the SAS were originally created in 1950 and used for ice and snowy soccer Or football games whatever you want to Call it and now they are the it sneaker Of 2023 and 24 you think they'll Continue to be popular who Knows well these laces that were once White look like they sat in a plate of Spaghetti so we're going to be setting Those to the side inserting our Adjustable shoe tree so that we can have As much of a hard surface as possible on The sneaker because we're going to need To apply a lot of pressure these are a Size 9 and 1/2 so we're just going to Adjust them to right about There now that the shoe tree is inserted All we have to do is add two squirts of Solution to our 4 oz bowl of water our Solution is highly concentrated so you Don't need to use the whole bottle for Cleaning so we're just going to squeeze This in here make a Mess I did did grab an extra bowl and Filled it with some water to soak our Laces in I normally put our laces in the Same Bowl but since this shoe is just so
Far gone I'm just going to set them in Here with their own two squirts of Solution and allow them to Soak now we're going to tackle the Uppers using the soft bristle brush and Try to break down as much of this as [Music] Possible yall mustard doesn't come out [Music] Right Kay look there's chunks everywhere It's like one of those things when like You know you just can't get a smell out Of your Nose all right we went over the entire Upper using the soft bristle brush now You can at least see that this sneaker Was white however I do want to say Mustard will stain in your sneakers 100% Of the time after cleaning we do realize That there is this bright yellow Highlighter stain so if you're at of Barbecue eating hot dogs and hamburgers Make sure you have a sneaker wipe on Hand to wipe that mustard off the longer It sits the more likely your sneakers Will be ruined so we're going to go Ahead tackle the uppers again as well as The midsole using our medium bristle Brush and really just hope for the Best the somus feature a primarily Leather upper with a little bit of suede On the toe cap so it makes them the Perfect candidate to use our medium Bristle brush our medium brush is the
Allpurpose brush we recommend using it On a wide variety of materials you do Have to be a little careful on knit or Mesh just because it can Fray but this Sneaker is 100% okay to use the medium brush on the Uppers and the Mincle all right all that's left to do Is hit this out soole using the stiff Bristle brush we're also going to use The stiff bristle brush on the midsole Cuz there is still some deeper staining Trapped in it's a super hard rubber Material so we can 100% use the stiff Bristle brush just want to make sure That we're careful not to hit the suede Or the leather because it can scratch it Let's get scrubbing and finish up this [Music] Pre-treatment We also removed our insole our insole Isn't super dirty but we are going to be Tackling it using our medium bristle Brush just to fully disinfect the inside Of the sneaker and give it the same love That we did on the outside we got the Pre-treatment all completed so we are Almost done with this super fun Experience now I mentioned earlier that Mustard did deeply stain this leather Material so we phoned a friend he said To use alcohol prep pads to remove this Mustard so we're going to try that out See what happens oh and we stole these
From Vic thanks [Music] Big we're all done with the alcohol prep Pad it didn't get it all of the way out But it definitely looks a lot better it Doesn't look like a child Drew all over The sneaker with highlighter we're going To be putting it in the laundry bag Throw it in the washing machine to see If we can flush out more of that Staining if not we might have to come Back with more alcohol prep pads we're Really just going to see what our Laundry system can do now we're going to Put it in the bag and then we're going To take care of those laces that have Been soaking for the entire cleaning I Can't even explain to you how bad this Studio [Music] Smells One cool thing about our laundry bag is It has this designated pouch to put your Laces and your laundry pod in to keep Them safe during the cleaning all it's Love to do is head to the laundry room Wash this on a normal cycle with cold Water and then allow it to air dry and See how we Did we're going to be answering a Comment from Ken me he said let's see Some cleaning of some real stains like Spaghetti sauce mustard grape juice red Wine beer there's a whole bunch of them
Now these shoes were covered in ketchup Mustard terot sauce sweet chili sauce Crushed raspberries onion powder garlic Powder I don't even know what else all I Know is that the smell was absolutely Horrific so I'd say we definitely Cleaned up some real stains for you all Right got the shoe it's all dried it Looks aund times better than it did Before however there is some Imperfections number one this Suede is super crunchy so we are going To be resetting that there is also some Imperfections on the sneaker the mustard Did not come all of the way out Specifically right here so even when we Used alcohol prep pads and the cleaning Solution where the midsole meets the Upper there is some glue that is just Staying out here the mustard did not Come out of the glue there really Nothing we can do we could try to remove The GL blue portion but really we would Just scrape off the paint and then there Is a couple more mustard stains Specifically right around here where the Stripes are honestly it's not a perfect Clean but it's aund times better than it Was before and the last imperfection is This thing still smells horrific we're Going to put the shoe back together take Care of the Suede and then we'll bring In the deodorizer to see if it can save The smell of this sneaker I chose to use
The brass brush for this we do have Other tools for Reviving suede you going To be super careful not to scratch the Leather with it move in multiple Directions do not apply pressure just Back and forth until you get the desired Results we got the suede back to that Smooth texture that we love honestly it Came back a lot better than I was Expecting so now we're going to spray This sneaker with deodorizer because the Smell of it is atrocious we normally Just apply two to three little sprays of Our fresh smelling deodorizer but for This one probably going to apply a Couple Extra a lot extra let's lace up this Sneaker and wrap up this Cleaning shoe is laced up now that's Pretty good for me before we finish this Up I have to run and get the before Because we didn't leave it in this Studio and there's probably more bugs in It than before so I'm going to go get The before sneaker and then we'll show You these results I'll be right Back okay I'm back are you guys ready For this cuz I don't think you are Before and after and you can't even say It's not the same shoe because well There's mustard stuck in the glue so Check it out we achieved these results Using a couple different products from The rejuvenator product lineup first the
