Run Tester Kieran took them for a first spin and in this video, we’re serving up our early thoughts and initial reaction on ASICS’ tweaked daily trainer. We’ll look at what’s different vs Novablast 3. There are some quite significant changes that includes a new midsole foam with a more aggressive rocker, new uppers and tongues. So how do those updates stack up on the move? Watch on for our ASICS Novablast 4 first run.

Hey people welcome to the Run testers Now we finally got our feet into the aex Nova blast 4 we've taken them for a First Spin and in this video we'll bring You our early thoughts and initial Reaction so watch on for our aex Nova Blast 4 first Run some quick details then the NOA Blast 4 sticks with the same stack Height as the previous generation that's 41 1/2 Ms 33 and 1/2 Ms in the men's 40 And 1/2 32 and 1/2 in the women's for an 8 mil drop the new Nova last four tips To scales at 9.4 o or 267 G in our test UK men's size 8 and a half that's Marginally heavier than the no Blast 3 Which came in at 8.9 o or 253 G it's Priced the same as the last gen so £ 135 In the UK and $140 in the US now let's Give you a quick shoe whip round and Tease out the main changes here first up We have a new midsole foam called flight Foam blast plus Eco there's some Eco Materials in there and there's a changed Midsole and outsole geometry the Nova Blast 4 now has a much more aggressive Midsole rocker and extended forfoot and Heel flaring for a wider platform across The whole base of the shoe up top you've Now got an engineered woven upper ASX Says that that offers more stretch and Ventilation and durability it's softer And smoother than the uppers on the Three but to me it doesn't feel that

Much more stretchy notably the side Walls of the novablast 4 rise up higher On the foot too and you've got this Sweep of the toe box that almost curves Up with the rocker to help ensure there Space across the top of the toes stop All that black toenail stuff some people Complain about the first sh the tongues Have been changed too they now have Wings that wrap across the foot they're About the same thickness but they're Also now made from a different material That feels almost like a really sort of Thin neoprene material now you flip them Over and you've got a very sort of Similar covering of ah rubber for grip And durability this is also the first Nova blast to be CO2 Labeled so when it comes to size I just Ran in a UK and a half which is my Regular size running shoes and overall Heel colors midfoot lock down all of That feels good they feel like they hold The foot really well that fit right Through into the toe box is great the Toe boxes are nice and roomy if anything I would say they do feel a little bit Long I did question running out there Whether or not I might go half a size Down to create a fit that's a little bit More compact there's a little bit of the Boat energy going on here you know big Canoes which an overlast I've always had And it's still here though I'm not sure

If you reduce that sort of toe length Maybe the toes will bash up against the End so yeah maybe it's just the way These shoes run but overall I think I Would recommend going true to Size so I'm just back in the car after My first run in the ASX Nova blast 4 I'm Not a big fan of the Nova blast I've Never really got on with the early Generations I think they've improved Over the time the very first generation I found them too soft too soggy too Sappy I didn't get the bounce that other People got and so every generation I've Gone through and not necessarily enjoyed Them they've improved sort of slightly Incrementally and I was fully expecting Not to like these shoes they are a big Shoe still that's one of the things I Think that doesn't really chime Perfectly with me I prefer shoes a bit More light a bit more agile a little bit More Nimble what you've got here is it's A big hulken great shoe that feels like A lot of sh on the foot massive wide High stack of that flight foam blast but Actually on this run I don't know I Haven't looked at any of the specs any Of the information about this shoe any Of the other reviews that have come out Already I just put them on and ran out Of the box and to me they feel like They've been tuned a little more firm

There's a little bit more response Coming out of the shoe so they don't Sink as much they are still soft and Protective they've still got that sort Of textbook Nova blast Max cushioning Feel for easy Comfort over long runs You're still going to get that massive Plush heel collars you know comfy Tongues all of those things that make The over blast and overlast are very Much still here but on those miles I've Just done I did feel like I was getting A little bit more immediacy out of the Shoe it was springing back and returning A little bit quicker than some of the Other ones and that takes away some of The sogginess that I think the past Generations have had and that's improved The ride overall so now they're quite Comfortable at easy miles but I also did Like a a faster marathon pace mile 3/4 a Mile out there and I felt they picked up Quite well for that as well they felt a Little bit more springy overall there's A bit more energy to them I don't know Whether you know sometimes you go out And running the shoes and you're testing Them and today I felt good I didn't want To run but actually I felt quite Lively So maybe it's just me rather than the Shoes which is why we test them over Many many runs but First Reactions is Actually I I like this version of the NOA blast much more than I've liked

Previous generations the upper hug Nicely there's no slipping in the heels There's plenty of room in the toe box if I have one question mark is that they Still feel quite long so you've got it's Got a wide base of Mido foam they're Also quite long and sometimes I think That makes the shoe feel slightly Disconnected so it's almost like Different parts of the shoe are coming Back at different times and it it Doesn't quite feel like everything's Coming with you immediately that's one Little Quirk that the over blast have Always had for me and I think you're Still getting that now I do think They're clipping over though and The Rocker on them is pretty effective as Well overall when particularly when You're moving you know well the other Question Mar I really have though is is This still really a hill Striker shoe When I move back on my heels I Definitely feel more spring and rebound Than when I'm up on my toes on the toes I feel a bit more like I'm working Through the rocker but yeah first run Impressions still a big hulking great Shoe that still feels like a big shoe on The foot it doesn't feel too heavy Though I'd be interested to see what the Weights are up against things like the Nimbus and against the ghost Max all of Those shoes do I like it better than

Those shoes after that first run I'm not Entirely sure I choose it over some of Those cuz cuz they just to me feel a bit Narrower a bit more precise overall with That kind of foot placement but if you Like the other Nova blasts I think You're going to like these shoes so I Also took the Nova Blast 3 and four out For a sidebyside mile and there's a few Things to note here too the Nova Blast 3 Was about bounce and spring and a little Bit of softness and sinking and then Reacting I think the no blast 4 are more About roll efficiency and form momentum That's much more my kind of Ride The Wider base also cradles the foot more And along with the higher sidewalls of The Shi I think it creates a much more Stable ride as Well my really early First Impressions Verdict then well I've not really been a Fan of the Nova blast past Generations I Never got that bounce I only ever got The sink and the softness and the Cushion because of the size of the shoe And that overall kind of feel of the Size of the shoe on the foot it never Really clicked with me now my initial Runs in the over blast 4 suggests that Some of that has been corrected it's now Tuned to be slightly firmer more Responsive with that tow spring that Leans more towards Rolling efficiency And that makes it much more my kind of

Shoe it might not be for everyone some People might like that soft and sness From the three but I don't think they've Sacrificed that easy day long run Comfort either and I'm really looking Forward to getting these out for a two To three hour long run test and the fact Is I've never been able to say that About the Nova Blast 3 so this feels Like a much more promising shoe to me so There you have it that's our first run Early impressions of the new aex Nova Blast 4 please hit like if you liked it Maybe share it with a running friend if You think they might as well if you're Not subscribed we'd love it if you do us The honor it really helps us keep making The testing reviews all of the kind of Content that we put up on the channel if You're a subscriber helps us do that if You're interested in Daily trainings I'm Popping a review of the Brooks ghost Max On the screen now that shoe might Surprise you and it's worth a watch Otherwise thanks for tuning in and Giving us your time we really appreciate It we hope to see you again soon on the Run testers and happy running everyone
