The Coros Pace Pro sees Coros add an AMOLED multisports watch to its ranks, joining Garmin, Polar and Suunto in adding a splash of collection to its watch range.
Screen aside, the Pace Pro is offering other improvements on the Pace 3 including global offline maps, improved overall software performance, a new user interface and bigger battery life.
Testers Nick, Mike and Kieran have only had the Pace Pro for a couple of days, so we’ve squeezed in some running time with the new Pace to see if it makes a good first impression.

Running with a 10-year old Garmin:
Hey this is Mike Foresters and this is The brand new chus Pace Pro corus's First AMOLED multi sports watch now Myself Nick and Kieran have all had the Pace Pro for a few days and we have Managed to squeeze in a bit of running Time and getting to know the new Pace Pro what we're going to do in this video Is take through the key things you need To know about the new Pace how it Compares to the PACE 3 and there Definitely are some differences there And then get into some initial run of Thoughts with the pace Pro and let you Know whether this is a good match for Watches like the G FR 265 the new polar Vantage M3 and the excellent sunto race S so let's get into It so here's a quick rundown of those Key choros Pace Pro details let's start With price and the pace Pro comes in at £349 in the UK and $349 in the US which Moves it out of that affordable price Range the pace 3 sits in to sitting Closer to watches like the Gin FR 2 5 Polar Vantage M3 and the sunto race s on The design front it's Pace in name but There are some changes there's a size to Start with as it moves from a 41 mm case To a larger 46 mm one putting it closer In size to the chus Apex 2 Pro you do Still have the option of both silicone Or nylon bands and have a watch that's Waterproof up to 50 m depth there's that
Digital dial and back button but that Back button has grown in size and that Sits around a polymer CASE front and Center is a larger 1.3 in AMOLED Touchscreen that does support an always On mode and offers a maximum brightness Of up to 1,500 nits in terms of key Features you can expect a new processor That offers two times the performance on The pace 3 and 32 GB of storage giving You more room to store music with as Well like the pace 3 you're getting dual Frequency GPS the ability to pair External sensors and it now adds an ECG Sensor into the monitoring mix you're Also getting free offline mapping and Turn BYT navigation which wasn't Available on the pace 3 in terms of Battery life you can expect up to 20 Days without the always on screen mode Or 6 days when you do keep that screen On at all time it offers 38 hours of GPS Battery life in all systems mode or 31 Hours with the Dual frequency GPS in use That means upgrades on the P3 for both Daily and GPS battery life numbers car Has also changed the charging setup with A new keychain design to make charging On the go now an easier thing to do Yeah so I've only had the pace Pro for a Few hours myself I got it a day later Than the rest of the guys I've just been Out for one run with it so far but do Have some early Impressions on a watch
That I was very excited for I have to Say like I do like the way chorus goes About things with its Pace line in General and an AMOLED choros sounds very Good to me the AMOLED screen is very Nice it's exactly what you'd expect from A nice bright AMOLED display it's it's Very clear and easy to read in all Conditions the run I went on today was Mostly in the forest and under that kind Of dappled tree cover very bright and Easy to read the screen the maps the General stats and yeah it's a nice watch To engage with outside of your runs and Other workouts as well we say it's not The easiest watch to take good videos of Because of the screen flicker you Sometimes get on AMOLED watches to Counter this I have increased the Exposure which is why my arm might Appear Orange in a few of these videos The watch is a bit thicker and bigger Than the pace 3 for sure actually Looking at the stats I was quite Ro it Was going to be really quite thick but That's not the case it is to a very thin And lightweight watch which is one of The most appealing features of the pace Range in general for me that they are Nice lightweight watches and that is the Case with the pace Pro it sits very Snuggly against the wrist and actually Is noticeably thinner than something Like the polar Vantage M3 which I'm also
Testing at the moment one thing I don't Like is the Silicon band it comes with I Definitely swapped that out for a nylon Band I've already put on my Emma baits Run hard have fun band and I think yeah It's just a much more comfortable and Lightweight experience to use a nylon Band also the Silicon band it comes with Is very long and doubles up my wrist Almost entirely getting maps onto the Watch was very quick as well something I Actually only just remember to do as I Was standing outside getting GPS to Start my run I was able to get onto the App pick a couple of regions that I Needed and get the maps onto the watch Using Wi-Fi very quickly in a couple of Minutes before heading out to meet Someone for the run so that's a very Easy experience uh and those maps are Nice and bright on the watch like I Mentioned when you are running even if You're under tree cover first run I did Was a 10 mile in the forest I was also Using the Garmin 4 965 connected to the Polar Varity sense as kind of a good way Of checking the GPS and hot rate Accuracy on the pace Pro and I also had The the polar Vantage M3 on which we're Currently testing at the moment as well On both GPS and heart rate the pce pro Showed no errors at all for me on that First run the heart rate was beat for Beat in line with the polar Verity sense
Throughout the run I was going on an Undulating route so little spikes Uphills and then falling downhills and Like I say it matched up very well both In terms of my experience on the run When I look down I could see the same Heart rate across both watches and then When I look at the graph afterwards you Can see that the heart rate was very Closely matched up throughout the run in Contrast actually to the Vantage M3 Which went on a little wand and probably Locked onto my Cadence for most of that Run GPS accuracy again very closely Aligned across all three watches I was Getting the lap alerts pretty much the Exact same time the overall distance is Very similar looking at the GPS Trace Again looks very similar and and the pce Pr is very much in line with the 4 a 965 And the Vantage M3 which all of those Watches were in dual band mode there and Yeah can't really F anything yet on Those accuracy fronts after just that One run obviously we'll do a load more Testing of that ahead of our full review Battery life like I said I didn't know If I charged it even fully before I Started the run it was down at 89% after The run so I think it was draining Fairly quickly compared to the listed Stats I had the map screen on the watch During the run so maybe that affected it Also downloaded those maps to the watch
Before the run so yeah my battery Testing is it is very much in it infancy I won't comment on that too much have a Much Fuller account of what the Battery's like on the watch in time Because obviously this is an important Area corus has always offered very good Battery life across this watches with an AMOLED screen you know will that still Be the case the listed stats look very Good so hopefully it hits those numbers I do like the little adapter they've Gone for instead of another charging Cable uh you know most people do have a USBC cable and if you don't you can Reach out to coros support and they will Send you one out like you're not going To be left high and dry the adapter is a Very neat solution I think just be very Careful to not lose that adapter Obviously if you can't Sub in an older Choros cable with the pace Pro cuz it's Set a little bit deeper that charging Port but all around I do like that System they set up that charging Solution so I've just come back from my First run with the coros pace Pro I had An hour to do today so I also took along With me the coros pace 3 I also had the Polar Vantage M3 and I had that paired To a Polar heart rate monitor a chest Strap as well too and interestingly is The same price as the choros pace Pro as Well has similar features across the
Board as well so quite a useful one to Take along with me um I had them all set In the kind of best accuracy mode so Kind of that dual frequency GPS mode I Used a bit of the mapping support on the Um cor Pace Pro as well too I had to Download the kind of maps just took a Section the UK ones which didn't take Too long to kind of sync over to the Watch obviously was paying attention to Kind of metrics I usually pay attention To so distance tracking things like Pace Average pace the kind of split as well To before getting into that obviously Need to talk about the design and that's Kind of the big story here the fact that It has an AMOLED display but I don't Think that's the only story here I think The fact that it is you know compared to The P3 it is a bigger watch there is a Little bit more heft to it it isn't as Dinky as the pace 3 so if that is Something you are hoping for that Definitely isn't the case here with the New pace Pro so there's a little bit More screen there there's a little bit More case there and you do notice it a Little bit more it isn't as light but it Isn't a heavy watch or wasn't a heavy Watch to wear and kind of strap on um to My wrist um in terms of that screen it's A very good quality Amed display is one That you can keep uh kind of set to Always on and that's you know when you
Are using it during your tracking and Without the kind of tracking enabled as Well too screen felt pretty good Ultimately felt very good in terms of The kind of displaying the maps look at My metrics and actually having that Bigger a display compared to the pce Three I think makes a lot of sense Ultimately um so yeah from that point of View I think the design generally is you Know pretty fine the buttons are very Similar there's some bigger buttons here Now compared to what we got on the uh Pce 3 which ultim just makes it a little Bit easier to kind of interact with and I think is is a good thing ultimately in Terms of overall performance as I said I Had the two other watches the the pace 3 And the Vantage M3 now in terms of of Keeping an eye on the tracking during my Runs generally was pretty fine distance Tracking seemed fine the pacing seemed Pretty good as well wasn't identical in Terms of those split times but they Weren't too far off I think when I got To the end of the round there was some Difference in the um distance tracking Ultimately the Vantage M3 and the polar P were actually closer um together than The um coros Pace Pro and then I kind Pulled out the kind of GPS tracks give You a sense of how they ultimately Compared um as I said things like pacing Seem pretty good in general compared
Particularly to the pce 3 heart rate Monitoring um the uh performance was Generally okay battery life um pretty Good for that kind of hour run there was Um I from 100% on all the watches the uh Pace Pro dropped to um 94% it was 93% on The Vantage M3 and the pace 3 so not a Huge amount in it kind of the drop I'd Expect to see and again in that kind of Top GPS accuracy mod and yeah the only Other thing to talk about really is the Mapping I think the mapping looks pretty Good pretty much in keeping with what We've seen I think on the Polar Vantage M3 um a little bit more uh in keeping With kind of what we see on the sunto Watches as well too not as detailed Maybe as the Garmin kind of mapping Support but very good looked very nice On um the AMOLED display and felt very Easy and kind of useful to have that Additional kind of mapping information Ultimately and ultimately having that am Display does make it a nicer watch I Think ultimately to use and whether the Change to a bigger display and a bigger Design is something I'm totally on bll With I'm not entirely convinced because I kind of like the smaller form factor Of the pace 3 but ultimately a very good First run with the coros pace Pro I've Only had the coros pace Pro for a day so I've only managed a couple of short runs Using the watch I did a two-mile session
Half easy half intervals and a 1H hour Steady run I put it up against the Garmin HRM Pro chest strap the polar Vantage M3 I've also got the sunto race S titanium I had anagan Phoenix 8 just For benchmarking but before we get into The early battery GPS and heart rate Stuff wanted to say a quick word on the Design now the big headline here is Obviously the arrival of the AMOLED Screen for the first time on a choros Watch they've managed to do that while Still increasing the battery life over The pace 3 and we knew that coros would Want to secure that battery life selling Point that makes its watches kind of Stand out from the rest before it went AMOLED and they do seem to have done That at least on Paper now the bigger brighter choros Pace Pro screen gives you a bit more Real estate over the pce 3 for not much Extra weight I don't notice it all that Much but like all ameds the punched up Color and brightness I think really Brings your stats to life nicely it's Obviously going to help with the Navigation smarts as well it's been Interesting using this side by side with The polar Vantage M3 and to my eyes Though I don't think coros it doesn't Seem to be quite as sharp as the polar Or the phoenix8 you know much more Premium watch it's not a huge difference
And I found the screen on the coros pace Pro easy to read just doesn't feel quite As Ding and crisp the other immediate Sense I got the moment I took the coros Place Pro out of the box was that the Materials feel cheaper than the sunto Race s and the polar Vantage M3 the Strap the casing the bezel even the Crown just feels a little bit cheaper It's all a bit plastic by comparison it Does make it light on the wrist and Overall this is a comfortable watch to Wear I defin defitely swap the silicone Strap that came in the box with mine for A nylon or by the nylon I think that Boosts the Comfort but overall because Of those choice of materials I think the Pace pro has a kind of pace three style Likeness to it that's actually a tick in The box when it comes to the battery Life I've only had time for early tests But here's some quick findings with the Always screen Switched Off and the Brightness on normal the average Overnight burn had corus's trademark Stinginess burning just 1% and half hour Run using dual frequency burned 5% the 1 Hour run burned 8% looking at the heart Rate performance stand and this is just Early testing so I don't want to judge The choros pace Pro too soon but you can See from the data here that while the Pace Pro optical does a reasonable job Of tracking the chest strap on the
Steady warm-up section that I did that Steady warm-up Mile and hits the Averages on par with the chest strap and The polar Vantage M3 it really struggles During the intervals with some big Overreaches some quite High spikes on The efforts at times it was reading 20 Beats per minute higher than the Garmin HRM Pro Plus chest STP Advantage M3 here Is far from perfect as well for you know Another Optical performance we'll do More testing on all of that on the Choros pace Pro to see how it pans out Over time on my steady runs the chorus Pace pro track better against the chest Trp as well so it's a bit of a mixed bag But we'll do more testing when it comes To the GPS I didn't run a particularly Tricky route laps of my local 400 met Loop in the park with clear skies on the Overall distances the coros pace Pro Came in at 2.36 Mii Advantage M3 came in At 2.3 the Garmin Phoenix 8 clock 2.4 And the sunto race s titanium registered 2.3 so that's all within a margin for Error all pretty much on point if you Dig into the tracks more closely and I've got the polar and the choros here You can see that both do a good job of Sticking me to the path and the park With the odd wobble nothing too Concerning so far from that dual Frequency performance but that's on Accuracy from these couple of tiny tests
That I've done Yeah so some initial thoughts of that First run with the Pace Pro and as its first effort at an AMOLED multisports watch it all looks Pretty good I think you know there is a Good quality am display on there first And foremost I like the fact that They've got bigger buttons here to Accompany that touchcreen as well too I Think the changes in the use interface Are really important here and I think it Really it needed to happen now that it Had that color display really to kind of Grow things a little bit and make it Feel like a nicer screen uh to kind of Interact with ultimately so those Changes I think are really important Here too yeah generally feels pretty Solid overall feels like a nice addition To the chus range obviously it is more Expensive than the cars Pace 3 which you Know really wasn't that sweet spot in Terms of that pricing uh now this is More in you know comparison with things Like the gun 265 the cinto race s the Polar Vantage M3 I think it feels like It's in good keeping with those watches Whether it will be better than those Watches overall as an overall package Obviously the 265 is a little bit more expensive I Think it's a better kind of Smartwatch Kind of sports watch running watch um
You know o overall I think the polar V J Have had a very good experience so far And it feels most in keeping with that Watch though I think the screen feels a Little bit nicer on the coros pace Pro And then there's that sunto race s which We really liked I feel like from a Software point of view the choros feels A little bit nicer feels a little bit Slicker um whether you know the map Necessarily better on the cars compared To the S I don't think there's a huge Amount in it and then you know GPS kind Of you know in general performance I Think you know it's probably going to be There and thereabout so I feel like this Is a good addition you know I think if You're thinking this is going to be a Pace 3 uh with an Amad display it's not Quite that it feels like a slightly Different device it is obviously bigger Uh as well too and it's more expensive So that's something to factor in here But it does feel like it's more kind of In keeping with the competition and I You know I talk about those mid-range Amed op ions like the polar Vantage gem 3 the um sunto race s and obviously the More expensive 4265 but I've been Impressed so far feels pretty solid Overall with the coros POs Pro I am Looking forward to testing and spending A lot more time with it getting to know All the kind of ins and outs of the
Other features that are available here Yeah I feel like this is going to be a Good addition and well it's not as cheap As the pac3 which is slightly Disappointing I think this is going to Be a better fit uh an alternative to the Mid-range competition that is out there Outside of chorus's range so I was Excited for the launch of the choros Pace Pro and so far the watch is hitting All the right notes for me it's been Very accurate I like the look of it the Screen's very nice I get on quite well With the chorus user interface and the App I think it all you know feels quite Intuitive to me I'm not sure that'll be The case for everyone but overall I do Like the corus ecosystem and this is now A more attractive know way to get into That ecosystem having an AMOLED screen Which I do really value myself having Much preferred using AMOLED watches over The past couple of years I say this Mid-range area of the market was quite Quiet at the start of the year but now It's really competitive some really Impressive watches have come out this Year obious you've got the Garmin 4 and The 265 which has been around for a While sunto race s launched first and That's an incredible value watch I think That offers a really good all round Package in terms of accuracy design and Features and then you've now got the
Polar Vantage M3 and the choros pace Pro Coming in as well with AMOLED screens Accurate setups for GPS you know Impressive feature sets including maps On the polar and the coros and all Around it set out to be really Competitive and I think that's great for Consumers because there's loads of Features on this watches now that means You don't have to look at the top tier Of watches which are so much more Expensive unless you're looking for you Know really hardcore design or amazing Battery life this mid tier now has you Know a really impressive slate of Features there's also the Apple watch 10 You could throw into this area as well If you're looking for a smarter sports Watch so yeah we'll leave comparisons Those other watches I think for the full Review I do think the pace Pro can Certainly hold its own based on my very Early impressions of it but yeah that's Something we'll have to dive into in our Full review but what I was excited about So far living up to Expectations first Impressions then it's obviously very Early days in testing with the coros Pace Pro so I don't want to call this a Verdict but my gut reaction here is that Coros has done well to deliver an AMOLED Watch while keeping its nose in front of The similarly priced Rivals like the Sunto race and the polar Vantage M3 on
Battery life and packing in more max Accuracy GPS runtime that we got on the Pace 3 the AMOLED screen is an Improvement over the display on the pace 3 the bigger storage the offline maps And the ECG smarts other nice extras Over the pce three I'm though however Not just 100% sure right now that I paid 130 premium for those extras and I think The build quality isn't as good as You'll get on the Polar Advantage M3 or The sunto race which is sort of much More premium better looking watches now You could argue the pace Pro does what The chorus Pace 3 which it kind of uses Lighter materials to save weight but Having worn it alongside the sunto and The polo I don't think there's a lot to Choose on overall comfort that 24/7 Wearability now if you own the pace 3 so Far I'm not sure there's going to be Enough here to Warrant an upgrade and Unless we find something outstandingly Different about the GPS and the heart Rate performance I think you're really Going to have to want an AMOLED screen To Warrant paying the extra for the pro Over the pace three okay so there you Have it some initial thoughts on the Choros pace Pro now as mentioned we've Only had this watch for a few days so Plenty more testing to do but while we Are testing if you've got any questions About the pace Pro or other watches you
