You know they gave their take on it Which was damn you just reminded me I Can actually have that made into a Actual shoe now instead of being paint Oh yeah because I did a terrible paint Job on those you did but that's besides The point so back to uh but no so for me Customs is a slippery slope for a lot of People yeah one I feel like people don't Even understand what Customs are there's Fix shoes and then there's customizing a Pair of authentic shoes into something That you want we're here for the LA I Have a lot of custom shoes as you know From Air Max ones Jordan Ones and that's It I'm saying it like it was gonna be a Long list well you have a lot of customs In yeah you have the Jordan one and you Have the Maxes correct yeah yeah they're The only two shoes I have that's uh Actually customized but I am a firm Believer that one buy what you like and If you like Customs buy them there are Some very talented people out here that Has an eye to create these amazing Pieces of Art and that's why I look at It as the art that they create sometimes It's the Colorways sometimes it's the premium Materials and with all that being said You have to be very careful in what you Do because you could end up like the Shoe surgeon like Dominic shoe surgeon Yep that part so that's where it gets
The slippery slope portion I'm talking About you can be a person that's making Them yourself you see a lot of people do Handcrafted and they make awesome work And then you have people that take to The Factory and then usually that's Where the drama starts because you Shouldn't be taking it to the factory Putting a Nike new balance or any Brand's logo on something that isn't Actually theirs so I did see a few folks Talking about it online at one point About what makes a custom a custom and When is it okay and when is it not okay So for me it's okay when you're using a Authentic piece from a shoe rather Usually is the midsole and that's Usually the only part that's the Authentic part cuz everything else is Outsourc premium materials which is more Valuable than what the brand usually Puts on it right and that's why you know The Cobblers charge you a lot of money And if you don't know what a cobbler is Look it Up people can charge this amount of Money because they're put in ostrich uh Snakes Skin Italian leather and all types of Stuff on these shoes to make them enhan Versus what they used to be whereas Though you can't go to Nike and get These things because they took away the Beast B program but they did away with
That so that limited people's options of Having something customized now besides The Nike ID which yes they have premium Materials that you can get but it's Still kind of limited in a sense and That's why you'll notice a lot of people That's heavy into the culture when Nike ID does have these uh like limited Materials and stuff like that People are getting five six seven or Even upwards to 10 plus pairs because a Lot of times what Nik would do is once It's going it's going right and they Won't bring it back like they had Levi At one point um oh yeah I forgot about That like the denim yeah yeah the Levi Pendleton yeah they had that I remember I had a pair of Pendleton 90s you Definitely did have those Pendleton 90s That was fire um sold him to Kev homie Kevy Kev yeah shout out to Kev but yeah Bro so people have this thing whereas Though they don't think something is Cool because it isn't from the brand Directly and that is an extreme letdown In my opinion because you don't know What you're missing yeah imagine you Can't just be a a j Balin or uh Nina Chanel and say Hey you Know I got a relationship with Jord I Want my own sneaker and they like okay Cool let's talk about it we don't have Those luxuries so that's our Gateway Into it by saying okay well I'm going to
Design something because I have these Ideas I want to get out let me put this Into Production on a oneof one and be able to Enjoy it yeah exactly you know yep but Before I get super deep into this Explanation of Customs how do you Actually feel about it so I've always Been the appreciator of Customs right I Started off in college not necessarily Customizing but repainting shoes for People and that's when I got into the Hobby of that customization that we did For the lasers before I did your pair I Was customizing laser ones to breads Shadows Royals any colorway that people Wanted to do just to get some extra cash In college so to be from that creative Background and have the opportunity to Lightly customized because I know I was Nowhere near what other people were Doing because back in the day my Inspiration was Sneakerhead in the bay And shoe surgeon and seeing them do Stuff on YouTube and I was like oh damn Like if I want to make a Tiffany SB I Can just go get a simple one paint it And it'll be close enough and that'll Like kind of be my grill but it's like Mine why not I loved customs and I love The fact that there's a lot of people Out there putting their own twist on Things because even now more than ever People are taking inspiration from like

Appreciate and I'm not over here coping Every release so that's when like I took That once I saw him do that Customization I was like that's Something I could drop some bread on and Yeah I just have a I have an Appreciation for customs and I really Like where this entire realm has gone Because not only are we seeing simple Customs but we're seeing people do some Crazy rebuilds on Air Force Ones like Remember the dude that had like a Chainsaw on his Air Force Ones where it Was it was like he was doing anime Inspired stuff but he was taking it to a Completely different level so stuff like That is what I very much appreciate Because you're being individual you're Being a creative at its finest and being Able to just be you unapologetically now You have to worry about the legal side Of things of course because once you go Too far it just like you said it's like That slippery slow yeah what so the Legal side of things I'm not sure if you Noticed but a lot of uh creators now What they would do is like example the Airx one I got from correct me if I'm Saying your name wrong bro uh marello The uh pad inspired one that I got Recently the Corduroy ones yeah yeah That was fire he like makes sure that he Put into the caption that this is a one Of one uh piece of art it is not a Nike
