The Diadora Gara Carbon is Diadora’s first carbon racing shoe that comes with a super shoe price tag.
Packing Pebax foam and a curved carbon plate, the Gara Carbon seems to have all the ingredients to make it a great shoe for going faster. Tester Mike has put in some early testing time to see what Diadora’s carbon debut is made of.

Hey this is mar testers and in this Video we're going to be talking about a Shoe that we've been waiting a while to Get in it is the deodora gar carbon so Theodora's first carbon racing shoe I've Just done my first hour in the gar Carbon I'm going to take you through What the key kind of information is and The pricing of the shoe it's not cheap Uh then get you into M initial running Experiences and give you a little bit of An initial verdict on the deodora gar Carbon [Music] So here's what you need to know about The deodora gar carbon this is Theodora's carbon racing shoe and like Other carbon Racing shoes it doesn't Come cheap it costs £250 in the UK or $300 in the US that's pricier than the KN vaporfly 3 the Adidas ADI adios Pro 3 And the likes of the sakon Endorphin Pro 4 it weighs in at 213 G in a UK size 8 And has a 5 mm drop with stack Heights 39 mm at the heel and 34 mm at the foref Foot that's similar stats to the aex Metas speed Sky Paris the upper is a Mesh one with Ridge laces and carbon Yards to give it that light racing Profile while the Mido features super Critical pabx foam and a curved comp Plate to help give it that bounce and Responsive feel at the outo deodor uses A wear resistant rubber compound across
The foot to particularly improve wear at The hill [Music] So in terms of fit I've got the gar Carbon in UK size 8 that's my typical Running shoe size I definitely feel like It's pretty spacious up front in a toe Box um I think more you know surprising The amount of space I think um you know Given it's kind of racing focused shoe And maybe there might be argument to go Halfside down the shoe wasn't an issue On the run but definitely felt there was A lot of space there you go back further Into the shoe midfoot I feel was a Little bit wider than I expected um I Think like the upper kind of reminds me A little bit of the metab sky Paris Maybe not a structure doesn't kind of Wrap as close to my kind of skinny Narrow feet definitely feels like just General space in this shoe in terms of Lacing and lockdown s lacing to the Met Speed Sky again that Series so you know Maybe not going overly tight in that Lockdown but lockdown generally was very Good for me um so yeah no kind of heel Rub or kind of issues the heill lock Down for me um on that run um I would Say yeah possibly maybe be worth get Half a size down on this shoe but as I Said going in my UK size eight kind of Finding that run so far [Music]
So I've just done my first run in thear Carbon it was an hour run kind of 710 750 minute mile pace so quicker than my Marathon pace just really wanted to see How it handled over some kind of faster Speeds um and I'll talk about what I Think kind of stood out for me I think First and foremost it's a light shoe and Probably you know not the lightest uh Shoe that kind of Super Shoe range but Definitely felt very light to run in so From a racing point of view faster Focus Shoe that felt like it it kind of ticked That box for me um the Mido kind of felt A little bit like a mixture of my Experience in theend Dophin Pro 4 and I Think the Met speed Sky Paris and I Think in a good way I think it has that Kind of slightly softer feel to that Kind of super critical phone you got That paback kind of super critical phone The carbon plate in there as well There's a really nice rollover in this I Say the the weight is very good as well Um I almost hoped or wished that maybe The rocker was a little bit more on the Aggressive side I think maybe that's What it lacks against something like the Met speed Sky Paris but I felt like a Roll through really nicely I wasn't Expecting to go out that quick I was Probably able to go around 7:30 minute Mile Pace really um which is close to my Kind of current marathon pace but I felt
Pretty good in this year my legs felt Pretty good didn't feel beaten up after That hour um and yeah I think the Mido There's a lot to like here there's you Kind of there's a bit of softness to it Not overly soft um I think there's some Bounce there as well and I think there's A nice role in this shoe as well but I Think the only thing for me is maybe Hoping for a little bit more of a rocker In it but in general felt very very good In that first definitely has a kind of Racing kind of uptempo daily trainer um Feel to it outside wise um nothing Massive to Port here I've been kind of On Pavements and road so it's very dry At the moment and cornering was Absolutely fine and not a huge amount of Rubber there but I think you know in Terms of gripping overall performance I Think it's going to be well built for Roads and kind of you know racing in General so very positive um first run I Would say uh in the theara carbon Definitely feels like a shoe Built For Speed um you know I've this is the first Time running a deodora shoe um I think The last time I was in a deodora shoe Was a football one and it definitely Doesn't run like a football shoe so yeah Um all very promising at first round Definitely looking forward to spending a Bit more time at the diodora gar Carin so initial thoughts on the DOR at
Gar com from someone else because Everyone wanted to sit at my bench while I was recording which is always the way Um pleasantly surprised in that first Run um I think it's all the ingredients Here for the com to be a very good Racing shoe uh it feels like you know Particularly as ingredients in the upper And the mid sole that I really like um I Think maybe need a little bit of Tweaking to really get it what it needs To be uh but it feels like an Amalgamation of a lot of those kind of Super Shoes I think there's elements of Things like the a met spe Sky Pass New B El V4 s Dophin Pro 4 I think that's a Positive thing here now the question Here is you know this is playing with The big boys in terms of pricing so Things it's up against things like the Um Su doing Pro 4 the S speed Sky Paris And New B SC Elite V4 and you know Does It Better those shoes I think maybe it's It's not a bad company it doesn't fill Out of place with those shoes but does It better them obviously that's you know Very much Up For Debate I've only done An hour in it um I definitely very much Like to race in it see what kind of Distance it excels in but there's Definitely some things I've liked here Things that definitely I feel maybe I'd Like to see tweaked but I don't think It's major things uh and I feel like
