After around 7 restocks of this Nike Dunk it is hard to believe that you don’t have a pair of the Panda Dunks in your collection! Today we get to show you how to clean the most popular Nike Dunks of all time; the Panda Dunks. These Nike Dunks feature a leather upper, so they are fairly easy to clean…. However, this pair was worn daily since the day the owner picked them up, so they needed some extra care.
For the cleaning process we use the RESHOEVN8R Signature Cleaning Kit to give the shoe a proper deep clean inside and out.The leather uppers clean up really well with the pretreatment using the all natural solution and 3 different brushed. However, we did choose to use the washing machine due to the tongue and stitching. Those 2 elements alone are some of the trickiest materials to clean.
We started by cleaning the uppers with the Soft Bristle Brush to create the most bubbles and breakdown all of the daily grime. After that we took on the Midsoles and re- hit the leather using the Medium Bristle Brush to finish the job. Prior to taking on the Stiff Bristle Brush on the outsoles and the harder staining on the midsoles. Then it was time for the deep clean process.
For this process we placed the sneaker in the washing machine on a normal cycle with cold water.. Pro tip: Leave the Shoe Tree inserted to reshape/ reform the sneaker. The Panda Dunks.. If we are being real aren’t made of the most premium materials, so they crease incredibly easy and the shape can be compromised with daily wear.
Once the sneaker was dry we noticed that although the Shoe Tree helped the creasing was still very noticeable. We had to take care of those small details before returning the sneaker. We removed the creasing to the best of our ability with the iron method that we learned from our friend Vick Almighty. To give it more of a detailed and polished look we trimmed the loose stitching and they were good as new! Guess we won’t have to get a new pair on the next restock!

Today we're going to be cleaning up what Some people might call the most Overrated sneaker to ever release the Panda dunks they've restocked I don't Even know how many times but we're gonna Be cleaning these up using the Rejuvenator signature cleaning kit Paired with a couple other products so Let's get into the cleaning As always we are only going to be Cleaning one shoe so for before and After purposes let's go ahead and set One shoe to the side Now that we got the dirty sneaker out of The way we need to remove these laces so That we can get as deep of a clean as Possible [Music] [Music] The laces are removed and they're Soaking in our bowl of water now that we Got those out of the way we can truly See just how dirty this tongue is from The daily wear now they might be Overrated Sneakers but you can't Disagree that this goes with every Outfit so you could essentially wear the Panda dunks every day if you really Wanted to the whole of toe box is pretty Misshapen just from wear so we're gonna Put the shoe tree in to really help push That out and reshape this entire sneaker Our shoe trees do adjust to a size 13. We do also sell extra long shoe trees on
Our website if you wear over a size 13 That do stretch to a size 18. this Sneaker we adjusted it put it in here And then I did go one hole bigger just To really push this toe box out so that We can remove some of this possible Creasing they might need the iron method But for now we are just really focusing On reshaping this toe box Now that that's done we need to add two Squares of solution to our four ounce Bowl of water Solution is inserted we're going to go Ahead and start the pre-treatment using Our soft bristle brush on this entire Leather upper as well as the tongue the Tongue might need a little bit more Elbow power but we're going to start by Breaking down all of this surface dirt When you're scrubbing the sneaker with The soft bristle brush you don't want to Apply too much pressure you really don't Have to just kind of move the brush in Multiple directions create all the Bubbles and break down as much Grime as Possible just move the brush around and You'll be good to go one important thing Is you want to make sure that you pay as Much attention to the inside of the Sneaker and the back of the tongue as You do the outside of the sneaker the Inside of this sneaker is going to Collect bacteria odors a whole bunch of Stuff so you just want to make sure that
You're scrubbing the interior of the Sneaker as well and breaking down all of That Grime that stays in Thank you [Music] Taking our highly absorbent and machine Washable microfiber towel and just Wiping away all these scents to see what Our canvas is looking like when you're Drying the tongue you do want to squeeze It out a little bit to wring out some of That dirty water that might be trapped In this material this material really Does soak in dirt as well as water so You're just going to push a little bit More pressure when you're drying that Portion I did take the shoe tree out to Clean the interior of the sneaker but Now I'm going to be inserting the shoe Tree right back in to tackle the rest of The shoe now overall the soft brush did A great job on the leather materials There is some wear and tear that we are Not going to be able to get rid of this Area right here the paint is completely Gone these have been worn to the ground But the cleaning process looks really Great the tongue is still looking dingy So we're going to hit that with the Medium bristle brush as well as this Back Nike logo and the stitching now the Main reason that we're choosing to use The signature kit with our laundry System is strictly because of those two
Areas so for the next step we are going To be hitting the midsole and the tongue With our medium bristle brush The medium bristle brush is ultimately Our all-purpose brush so you may notice That I'm reheating the leather material With the medium brush it is super safe It might not be 100 necessary but I just Want to make sure that this sneaker has The deepest clean possible so just going Over that one more time to make sure I Didn't miss anything another thing when You are cleaning sneakers you want to Make sure that you get in the nooks and Crannies as well because it can trap Dirt in there so pulling these apart and Just scrubbing in these areas will make Sure that you get a deeper and more Effective clean every time All right after one pass with the medium Bristle brush the tongue looks a little Bit better still not where I want it to Be but the washing machine will fully Flush out that Grime that is trapped Into this hard material the midsole also Didn't clean up as great it has a lot of Grease and Grime on there so I'm going To be hitting that with our stiff Bristle brush as well as this outsole I Mentioned that these sneakers have been Worn if you take a look right here there Is absolutely no stars on this sneaker It is completely smooth they have 100 Been worn as somebody's everyday wear
Now the main reason that I chose to use A stiff bristle brush on this midsole is Because it is an unfainted midsole so I Don't have to worry about it causing Damage I don't want to use it on the Leather because it will scratch the Leather so just being really careful When I'm going over this midsole to make Sure that I don't act filling at the Upper but it is a hundred percent safe To clean your panda dogs with the stiff Bristle brush on the mix [Music] All right the pre-treatment is done on This entire Panda dunked last step is to Take care of the laces before we head to The wash so the laces are black there's Not a ton of work to do to them they sat In the water in solution for the entire Cleaning so most of the dirt and drying Did come off so just finish the job I'm Going to rub them in between my hands And then squeeze out that excess dirty Water All right shoes and laces are ready to Go now I'm going to be inserting these Into our sneaker laundry bag I am Leaving the shoe tree in the sneaker you Want to wash your sneakers with the shoe Tree in just so that it holds the form Of your sneaker throughout the cleaning And continues to push out the creasing Also when you're allowing the sneaker to Dry you'll leave the shoe tree in it'll
Hold the form of the sneaker and the Heat from the sun when you dry it or From a fan will definitely help make This sneaker look a lot better The shoe is inserted and I went ahead And locked down these little locks on The bag to really hold the sneaker in Here now the sneaker laundry bag has a Ton of benefits but the main one is that It is actually going to scrub the entire Sneaker throughout the washing process Next Step we're going to be adding our Laces straight into this little lace Pouch here And in that lace pouch as well we are Going to be adding our laundry pots Now you only need one laundry pod our Laundry pods pack enough power to Actually clean four pairs of shoes so You just need one now we're gonna head To the laundry room and we're gonna wash This on a normal cycle with cold water And then we'll allow it to air dry in The Sun for a couple hours don't put Your sneakers in the dryer always use The Sun or fan for an effective dry to Prevent damage from your sneakers all Right we got the panda dunk out of the Washing machine and it looks much better I am still noticing there's a ton of Creasing on this toe box so we are going To be taking care of that but overall The pre-treatment and the washing Machine did its job let's take care of
That fixing so I removed the shoe tree And now I'm just going to be stuffing The toe box with our microfiber towels Now that we got the toe box stuffed all We need is a damp towel so I'm going to Be using this one that Vic uses in all Of his videos and this little Cricut Iron So one thing when you're doing the iron Method is you want to make sure that You're not leaving the hot iron in one Spot move it around multiple directions You won't get all of the creases out but It will reshape the toe box so let's Take a look at what it looks like [Music] Overall the toe box looks a lot better Now that we're done with that step we're Going to be doing a couple more Finishing touches using these scissors And removing some of these loose threads Now I think I've watched enough vikra Almighty restoration set I could Probably do this job Good Now that we've finished all of the Finishing touches all we have to do is Lace up this sneaker Now one thing you can definitely notice Is the overall shape of the sneaker is Just a lot better after the washing Machine and the iron method these Cleaned up really well we did rely on The rejuvenator signature cleaning kit
