Hi people welcome to the Run testers and To our review of the Lululemon Beyond Field a relative newcomer to the running Shoe shelves this is a neutral daily Trainer Come Easy Day shoe that Lululemon says designed for maximum Cushioning and effortless Glide so does It deliver well watch on for our Multi-tester Lululemon Beyond fi Review just give you some quick details And starting with a stat kite in the Lululemon Beyond field has 37 Ms in the Hill 27 m in the 4ot for a 10 mil drop Weight wise it tips to scales at 11 oz Or 314 G in our UK men's 8 and a half Test shoe that's about as heavy as daily Trainers come it's up there with the Asex Jo ners 26 and the vager Condor 3 When it comes to price the Luna lemon Beyond fi will set you back £48 in the UK and $158 in the US so moving on to a quick shoe whip Round then starting with the midsole Here and what you've got here is a stack Of super critical foam it's quite firm To The Squeeze test in the heel and a Little softer in the for foot area with No substantial rocking here to speak of Up top you've got the seamless Ventilated mesh it's quite generously Padded heel colors tongues and laces You've also got these little overlay Clips here just forward from the base of The Hill presumably there to improve the
Hold when you flip the shoes over you've Got a pressure mapped out so with high Abrasion High traction rubber for Flexibility and traction it's quite Aggressive grip for a road sh really It's always got these kind of little Lugs or studs on them across the whole Base but that's looking nicely durable Too now when it comes to fit I've got my Regular running shoe size here which is A UK 8 and a half interestingly the Lululemon website warns that the shoes Use us sizes and run small that's the UK Website says that anyway but here's how I found it once it was on the foot way I'll describe these fit there's really Good heel hold from those big sort of Padded collars I get good lock down Across the top from the lacing that big Padded tongue takes anything off lace Pinch they hold well across the midfoot There's no slipping particularly in that Kind of rear portion just felt well Cradled well looked after from that Point of view up into the toe box I Think you've got this kind of flexible Of uppers that there's plenty of flex Across the top of the toe box because The uppers are flexible and you can Wiggle your toes and overall there's Really sort of good space in the toe box I'd say you know like a middling kind of Volume up there no complaints about that They feel just the kind of right side of
Of hugging overall really just but you Can kind of get that Flex which makes Them a comfortable fit for me and I Recommend going through to SI shoes Fitwise this fits pretty standard to Lululemon shoes but I think it's worth Mentioning that they come up a little Bit different because they're based on Us or Canadian sizing for in the UK Market so I'm normally a five I run in a UK 5 for most shoes part from New Balance which come up a bit smaller come In 5 and a half for them and these are a US 7 and it's a UK 5 and a half I think In a lot of shoes us7 is UK 5 so it's Worth noting they do come up a little Bit small it's worth checking The size conversion on the Lululemon Website so yeah these are a UK 5 and a Half they're us7 I've got enough room in The toe box and they're they're a Comfortable shoe fitwise they're really They've got a lovely kind of plush Cushioning on the tongue um they've got A good amount of like lock down when You're when you're wearing the shoe You're really kind of secure in the shoe And it is comfy but yeah I would Definitely check different size I check The size conversion on the website and If you can go into a l lemon shop and Try the on just to be sure so yeah they Fit well but worth checking besides Converting so in testing I've logged
Just short of 50k in the Lululemon Beyond feel at times I've mixed up the Paces but a large chunk of my testing Has been at the easier end of my efforts Mainly because these shoes they're a bit On the bulky side to a bit too bulky Basically to be a genuine fast effort Shoe so that's where I've concentrated My efforts on easy and Recovery stuff Now my overriding response to beond Field is that it's kind of okay it's Firm big blocky ride that doesn't Benefit from any kind of rocker so the Result is a shoe that lands flat and Firm and the initial shoe that came Straight into my mind for comparison With this was something like the Under Armour Infinity it's got that same big Shoe feel but the shoe that's not the Liveliest or most cushioned ride they Feel kind of old school compared to many Of the new daily trainers we've tested And the Beyond feel for me lack the Punch and liveliness or softness and Spring of the likes of the novablast 4 The New Balance 108 v13 the Brooks ghost Max Go 16 these all offer more now if I Was looking for a general shooter the Odd bit of running and gym work kind a General day today wear outside of Workouts maybe this shoe ticks a box but It's lacking somewhat it definitely fits Into the basket shoes that demand you Clip over quickly with a faster foot
Turnover I think in order to offset the Overall kind of firmness of the stack The lack of rocker means you're not Getting any help with that stiffness and Roll through isn't that smooth there's Not a huge amount of response either I Don't find you can expect to do quite a Lot of work in this shoe they're also Quite heavy and they feel like quite a Lot of shoe on the foot pretty bulky I Do like the roomy flexible uppers and The footed does soften things up a touch But I think a lot of Runners are going To find these a bit blocky and a bit Firm particularly when you compare it to Other more recent shoes now particularly Those who also like a more kind of sof And more forgiving feel underfoot even On the recovery runs you feel a bit more Of the pavement coming up through than Plenty of other shoes now I quite like a Firm stiff shoe but even for me I'd like A bit more protection generally speaking I think things have shifted on a bit in Terms of shoes and there are many other More versatile daily options out there That I think you're going to kind suit What people have been looking for in Terms of softness and ride we said this In the first look and I'll say it again For the this looks like a Max cushion Chew there's an awful lot of foam here It's pretty heavy but it's not it Doesn't feel like a Max cushion shoe
Under fooot and I think that really took Me a good few runs to wrap my head Around cuz when you put on a shoe that's This plush you expect to sink into it You expect it to be really really soft Underfoot and it's just not it's a Firmer midell foam for sure that's not a Bad thing if you don't love that really Like sinking plush pillowy running on Clouds kind of feel if you prefer a Firmer shoe you'll like this shoe it's Definitely a daily running trainer I've Tried to wear it for a Tempo session Where I've been picking up the pace as I've mentioned I'm not doing a awful lot Of speed stuff at the moment I'm still Getting back into it after having my son Um so it's not like a really it's not a Shoe that you'd reach for for a Tempo Session it felt quite clunky I felt like I had to work really really hard to run A bit faster in this shoe but if you're Looking for a shoe that you can you know Wear casually I think it looks amazing You could either run commute in this Shoe and then wear it in the office or You know a shoe that you can you're just Going to wear on the treadmill or for Like a Barry's class and then doing some Casual you know 5Ks easy runs in it this Is a great shoe I think you could Probably go up to a Half Marathon Distance in it there's no reason why you Couldn't but it's not the fastest and
It's not the most versatile but Lululemon aren't claiming for it to be That as I said in the first look this is Definitely my favorite Lululemon running Shoe today I did loads and loads of Miles in the blissville trail which I Absolutely loved the blissville I found A little bit firm for the Pavements That's got you know even less cushioning Than this shoe um so it's definitely my Favorite Lemon Road shoe today I still Love the Bliss wheel Trail I think That's a great shoe for again running on Trails where it's going to be a bit Softer but it's not a soft plush Cushioned running shoe and it doesn't It's kind of not what what you see is Not what you get with this Shoe so my verdict should you buy this Shoe I think if you're looking for a Daily running shoe there are shoes on The market for this price point that you Can get a lot more out of the aex GEL Nimbus 25 26 the New Balance 1080 v13 They're kind of everyday running shoes Around this price point where you get a Lot more you get that versatility you Get that bounce and you can pick up the Pace in them you can't do that with this Shoe so I think if you're really if You're looking for kind of more of an Allrounder there are other things on the Market that are probably better suited For you if you're a fan of lul lemon you
Love the look of the shoe and they do it In some really beautiful colorways as Well and you want a shoe that you can Run commuting and wear in the office and Feel like you look cool in it this is a Great shoe it's a it's a good you know Daily running shoe but it's not got a Lot of Versatility and I I think it's my Favorite shoe from Lululemon so far but It's not a shoe that I would necessarily Reach for for my day-to-day training I Think I personally want a little bit More cushion under ver it then with the Lulu Beyond Fields one of these shoes That's kind of fine but not great I Don't hate them I don't love them They're pretty vanilla but crucially for Me they're a bit way off the performance Of many of their daily shoe rivals in What is a heavily competitive space now There's a shade of the under ARA here With a ride that's a bit bricky and a Bit blocky kind of competent but not Really setting my world on fire So in a world where we've got some Really really good versatile daily Trainers and easy shoes I'd say this is An okay attempt I see why L lemon has it Now in their lineup but I don't think They've nailed it they're not bringing Anything particularly new I definitely Recommend shoes like the S ride 17 the BRS go 16 or theh Max or the NOA blast 4 Pity Nitro 3 all of those over these
They're around about the same price and I think just do a better versatile Job so they have it that's been our Review of the new Lululemon Beyond field We hope you found it helpful don't Forget to hit like And subscribe ring The bell for more great run testers Videos when they land if you're Interested in Daily trainers I'm going To pop a video up on the channel now That you should definitely watch Otherwise thanks for stopping by and we Hope to see you again soon on the Run Testers happy running people
