The Balos may not have a plate, but the soft and bouncy PEBA-blended foam makes it a shoe that fits neatly into the world of super trainers. Designed for versatility, the midsole provides a high level of cushioning for easy runs but can easily allow you to pick up the pace thanks to an impressive level of energy return and a smooth rocker geometry.
The Mizuno Neo Vista is a super trainer designed to cover everything from easy runs all the way up to race day. That versatility is largely down to the combination of the Mizuno Wave plate and the thick stack of Mixuno ENERZY NXT foam in the midsole, balancing soft cushioning with a high level of energy return and bounce.

Hey Tommy for in testers in this video Myself and Nick are going to be doing a Versus of the new balance balos and the Mauno Neo Vista let's take a look at These [Music] Shoes the New Balance BOS costs £200 or $199.99 it weighs 243 G or 8.6 o for men In a size eight and the drop is 6 mm the Mauno Neo Vista cost 150 or $180 it Weighs 256 G or 9 oz for men in a size 8 And the drop is 8 Mm the ballos may not have a plate but The soft and bouncy pea Blended foam Makes it a shoe that fits neatly into The world of super trainers designed for Versatility the midso provides a high Level of cushioning for easy runs but Can easily allow you to pick up the pace Thanks to an impressive level of energy Return and a smooth rocker geometry as Well as the balanced Midol foam there's Healthy layer of ground contact Eva on The out soole built to provide Protection and add grip while helping to Retain a relatively lightweight finally The upper combines cre mesh material With a niit tongue as well as plenty of Padding around the ankle collar the Mauno Neo Vista is a super trainer Designed to cover everything from Easy Runs all the way up to race day that Versatility is largely down to the Combination of the Muno wave plat and
The thick stack of Muno energy NXT foam In the mid soole balancing soft Cushioning with with a high level of Energy return and bounce the shoe uses The brand smooth speed assist geometry To promote a smooth transition alongside A wide heel bevel to guide the Foton Landing aiming to promote an efficient And comfortable ride for any distance The upper is a knitted booty design Built to provide a stretchy fit as well As ensure plenty of ventilation and There's a good level of rubber covering The outso for grip and to protect the Mido foam in the center of the midsole Is a cavity which plays a big part in The sho's relatively lightweight Okay so Nick two shoes that are very Very similar in a lot of ways how's the Fit been for you in these two shoes been Pretty good I would say I've got Different sizes here but they are the Same US size I think that's almost the Way to look at these shoes cuz they're Both a US 9.5 it's an 8.5 and the Muno 9 In New Balance but in a US 9.5 they have Quite similar fit for me in terms of Length they have the right amount of Room in the toes fits been pretty good For me in both I prefer the upper on the Ballance I think it's just a really Simple well done upper really no no Complications fits well around heel HS Me well it's quite shallow in the for
Foot but nothing that was to its Detriment I found even on longer runs M's got a slightly more noticeable upper For sure you've got the big booty I Don't mind it the fits good in terms of Security I just don't love the feeling Of having that much fabric around my Foot especially on faster runs it makes The shoe feel a bit slower than it is For me sometimes and yeah I just it's a Good upper it's effective it does what It needs to do in terms of holding the Foot I just don't love the fit as much Because of just the mount going on there I think the Ballance is simpler upper Works better for me yep um yeah BOS for Me has been fine um you mentioned there The slightly shallower forth which some People might notice I I didn't but I'm I'm aware that it's there um found it's Very comfortable nice sort of little bit Of padding around it to make it more Comfortable just enough to make it a a Cushioned comfortable shoe uh I would Stay I would stay to my size and BOS uh Theo Vista I I size eight in the UK and This is size eight I found it to be fine I think it was because of the design of That upper it does feel a little bit Roomier than other shoes with more Reinforced upper like the ballos um and Yeah I'm not a fan of these sorts of Uppers I never have been when it was on Like the 108v 11 and 12 this this booty
Design I never really enjoyed it I Always felt like if you turn the corner It just sort of lost a little bit of the Structure of the shoe those points um But i' I'd say stay to my size in the Neo vistor as well yeah I suppose it Could wor I am half size down on my Normal UK size in the Neo vist but that Is my normal kind of US size but yeah Booty uppers can be a bit divisive I Think this is I think this is fine in Terms of structure and stability it's Just just a lot of Fabric okay so the run test in these two Shoes how's it been for you great two More great shoes Tom just just a great Year for shoes all around like these are Really Tom shoes in my mind very much Tom shoes big soft bouncy shoes that I Picked up and I also really love them And I don't necessarily go in for soft Shoes as much as Tom but I like a shoe When it's soft and then bouncy and both Of these deliver all that kind of sink In back to you in terms of energy return And as a result they are just great fun To run in they are shoes that for me Really Excel on long runs easy runs they Make them more fun they make them more Bouncy they tick along really nice and They have got quite a lot of Versatility As well to do some faster running in as Well just really fun to use to run in I Think the plate is a noticeable
Difference between them and the extra Stack heite on the mauno like when doing Separate runs in them or running in at The same time I think you get a slightly More consistent level of energy return With the Muno and I feel like it lasts a Bit better into a run as a result like You're doing a longer hard run that kind Of thing I'd probably lean towards the Muno feeling because the plate does give You that little bit more ping back and They're kind of similar in weight you Know similar all around but you just get A little bit of a slightly I think more Consistent energy return from the shoe Where B is super soft and it feels great And I think I haven't any real problems With it on like easy long runs but if I Do a lot of faster running in it or push It a long speed for a long time I feel Like sometimes the phone by the end Isn't isn't pinging back in the same way It did at the start of a quite as well But it's still very good but I think the Muno that is a difference I noed a Little bit between them Tom what do you Find about Them yeah um yeah there's definitely There's there a lot of similarities Between these shoes in that softness They I would use them for the same thing Um I think for me the BOS ballos feel is A little bit lighter on the feet to me a Little bit like the the there that foam
Has got a little bit more energy return In it um just just from um little bit More compression a little bit more Bounce off the back of it I think the Muno Pham for me feels a little bit um Not firmer but a little bit denser um so Uh I I enjoy both running both of them I Think they both have a really nice Rolling action u i mean there's a rocker In B's got fairly pronounced rockers Actually big rockers yeah so they both Got the meant to have pronounced rockers I definitely notice a rocker more in the Muno it definitely feels like a lovely Flowing shoe that plate is in there to Really guide your foot as you move along Probably less so in the ballos the Ballos I think the enjoyment I get from It is that softness that just bounces You along I actually likened it to in The first run I did to um the original Nike Invincible oh yeah in the review I Said that as well actually oh right okay Which at the time I thought that's bit Of a weird thing to say but I think that Combination of zumex foam um and you Know a big chunk of it it does feel the Same I think the ballos is a little bit More propulsive than that I think it Moves you forward a bit more I always Said that the Invincible just sort of Keeps you in one place bounces you Upwards um Tom could Tom could run the He's just bouncing up and down on the
Spot well yeah I I always found it Wasn't really helping you move forward Whereas these shoes do move you forward But I think definitely the mzo Neo VOR Put is more of a rolling action more It's smoother you get the the so the Bounce in the foam you get the the plate You get the The Rocker it really does is A nice smooth transition um so yeah I I Think I think it really comes down to Sort of that that rolling motion of the Of the shoe and I think the PL makes a Massive difference in the Neo vist as Well yeah I agree with you the BOS does Feel like lighter on the foot and Nimble It is a lower stack and it is a more Nimble shoe and actually it's what was Weird to say is but that feeling I have From it makes me like it more a bit more Than the mauno for kind of relaxed runs And easy runs and actually it feels very Chilled out on the it doesn't feel like It's a crazy super trainer it just feels Really fun and bouncy and lightweight And quite Nimble and actually but then You go to the FAS runs and you feel like Well this shoe feels heavier it feels a Bit more oppressive with the upper it Doesn't feel as fast but actually I Think it does deliver a bit more speed Because of the play and the higher stack Especially on Long efforts like I say And long hard runs so almost that would Give them a little bit of an edge for
Those for me but they both are I think Mostly very similar like that are Running at the same time they feel very Similar mostly but that little bit of Extra punch from the plate in Muno was Noticeable right so the verdict this is Going to be well I think I know what You're going to choose but um it it is a Fairly tricky um decision between these Two CU they are quite similar in a lot Of ways yeah I think if they the same Price I have a really hard time picking Between them because I think I probably Slightly like the feeling of the Ballance a little bit more in general For kind of most daily training runs I Think the Muno has a bit more punch to It but it's a lot cheaper and I think The actual feeling is so similar in many Ways then you get I think a slightly Higher level performance maybe from Muno For longer fast runs so yeah I would Lean towards Muno for that like the Difference in price is quite Stark in The UK is it in particular I think and Um that for what are quite similarly Enjoyable shoes for me for the same kind Of runs uh makes it yeah makes the big Difference so I would go for the Muno For sure but I do probably like the Feeling of the foot on the foot of the Ballos a little bit more partly because Of the upper just the generally quite Nimble feel to it um so yeah I wouldn't
Be gutted to spend the more spend more Money on it but I think the Muno is the Smarter choice for me Tom I'm going to Have to do this in two two ways as I Normally do when I can't make a decision If we're taking price into account I Would go for the near Vista I think it's A the difference between the two shoes And what you're getting out of them uh Is far uh the price difference far Outweighs that so you you know any any Benefits you're getting from maybe if The ballos is better any benefits you're Getting from that this the price Difference is so high that yeah I would Go for the near Vista even if it was Noticeably worse than than it was a Brick yeah well uh so the uh so I would Say if it was down to price definitely Near Vista it's an amazing shoe for that Price um there's not many shoes out There that can compete with it for that For that price um but if price wasn't an Option I would go for the ballos just Because I I just like the ride more I Like those I just like the way it deals With easiest sessions I like the way That it just feels that light bouncy Nimbleness to it um and just for my Style of running it just I just think it Feels just works perfectly for me it's Like I'm obsessed with the more V4 and Sh shees like that this is like a Progression of the more V4 um and it and
It's and it just works really well but If get down price 100% yeah Vista yeah The both shoes that make me excited to Pull the one and use them I would say I Just look the MAA Vista is only $20 Cheaper in the US it's 50 Quid cheaper In the UK that's a that's you got to buy The mauno 50 Quid is too much $20 though $20 on going BOS there we go I think uh Yeah I think depends on you if you Looking for an all round I'd probably Still get the mauno um BOS is just is Just a dream to run in though it's um It's it's not easy to put into words I Me it's almost almost our job isn't it Way but yeah yes yeah yeah anyway but You're not going to go wrong with either Of them so um both great shoes two more Great shoes great year that's it from us On this versus thanks a lot for watching Don't forget to like subscribe click the Bell all those things that make us smile And if you go to the caption below you Can find a link to our podcast which Comes out a couple of times each month Thanks for watching catch you next time [Music]
