Like they created this from zero and They made it look like that I was Actually going to say they remind me of The 3D printed one so a few minutes ago I got this package in from New Balance And it's quite possibly their weirdest Pair of shoes to date I'll be honest I Think weird shoes are cool so let's Unbox it and find out if it's any good All right here's the Box got the receipt Actually says this is not a receipt this Is the fresh film X recovery RC v y Obviously the box is all red it looks Like a standard New Balance box you've Got the New Balance logo on top Weirder than I was expecting so this Looks like the latest version of new Balance's fora into the sneaker mule Category obviously inspired by the Yeezy Foam Runners the Fresh Foam X recovery Seems like a shoe that features a drop In insole situation made a fresh foam And it looks like the rest of the shoe Is made up of co- molded foam and kind Of a rubber on the outsole so I'm Usually a pretty big fan of almost Everything that New Balance makes but I'm going to be honest this one's going To take me a couple minutes to get used To you got your tags on the bottom I Bought a size n which is my true size I'm going to have to try these guys on See how they fit they are squishy I Would say even squishier than than Yeezy
Foam Runners yeah maybe not shoot but do They look better no definitely not the Foam Runners man they're just they're Ugly but they're iconic these guys kind Of seem like some sort of I don't know Something that I would 3D print in fact I actually have a pair of shoes that I Did 3D print that look just like these So I did a video a couple years back Where I 3D printed a pair of Skateboarding shoes for Braille and uh It looks very very similar to this shoe Like crazy similar especially in this Black color I mean shoot even the top of The shoe is Sim similar way more similar Than uh I would have expected this might Be reaching this might be totally crazy But was there some inspiration maybe Taken from the 3D PR shoe I don't know I Didn't get a lot of views so probably Not but still they're very similar Looking there's a potential there Definitely potential but all right let's Try these guys on see how they fit what Is That what is that it's so big and ugly Wait my hand is now wait all right there Is an eclipse happening right now but I Figured what better time to film a Review of just ugly Eclipse looking Shoes so I wanted to get your opinion on Them what do you think of the New Balance Fresh Foam X recoveries do they Remind you of anything I was actually
Going to say they remind me of those but Also your um 3D printed one yo that's Actually crazy cuz when I unbox these I Was like yo these look just like my 3D Printed shoes I did for Braille yeah That's I didn't tell her to say that I Really didn't especially with the insult Too I know I know I was saying at the Beginning of the video I wonder if New Balance took some inspiration now I'm Mad New Balance just do a collab with me I put them side by side I was like yo These look crazy similar okay I'm really Glad that you said that because it Validates everything that I was thinking So let's try these guys on I haven't Tried them on yet and we'll compare them To the Yeezy foam Runners because that's Sort of the market that they're going For I think with these guys ooh they're Actually really comfortable underfoot so They've got a Dro in an insole like the 3D printed shoes that I made except this Is fresh foam X so it's super super soft However I went through a decize size n Regular width and they're crazy wide Around my toes I don't know if you can See the difference actually if you look At them compared to like the easy foam Runners yeah isn't that like crazy well Don't you find that the ye pH Runners Are a little narrow or no no okay but do You find them with yours you did get Like a size that was a little bit too
Small small with yours I think cuz we Weren't sure about which side was going To be best for you with easy Runners but Uh yeah these feel really wide they feel Actually better obviously than my 3D Printed shoes but they're definitely Wider towards the toe but they're not Bad on feet I'll be honest I don't like The way that they look especially Looking down on the shoes how are they Around the ankle honestly they're looser Than I would have thought like my my Heels coming out a little bit okay and I'm a true size n and these are a size n So I was kind of hoping that these would Fit well that's why better about the Ankle cuz you notic my heel coming out Well no cuz I figured with the width at Your toe matter that much if the ankle Was snug but yeah I guess not I feel Like I should have gone down half size Or a whole size or whatever sizing Options they had gotcha but what do you Think visually I mean they probably look Better from my angle than your angle Yeah they look stupid from my angle Still they're A variation of what we've Seen a bunch of times these days fair Enough do you prefer them to the foam Runners no really so you prefer the foam Runners I do too actually but like a lot I think these look way better especially The white ones I didn't know you had the White ones these are the OG ones oh
They're really nice I know they are Really nice they're made of um I think Algae foam is what these ones are made Of the the first ones were right yeah They're dope but they go for a lot now So not going to buy you a pair I'm sorry That's okay so what would you rank them Out of 10 the new balances cuz those are Clearly made for comfort so it's hard to Rate them on appearance when I know That's probably not what they're made For I mean they should be they should Look okay you know what I mean like if I'm put my feet look okay is what I'd Say oh nice okay so we'll give them an Okay out of 10 yeah okay okay well Sizing advice if you do plan to get These cuz they are actually sold out Like these sold out really quick I would Say go down size maybe not a whole size Maybe a half size unless you like a Really wide foot or you're a wide footer I would say go down at least to half a Size I think it's actually getting Darker because of the eclipse I don't Think that's clouds I think that's Actually the eclipse I just looked up Right at the eclipse oh great all right So I've been wearing the New Balance Fresh Foam X recovery for about a day Now and I'm ready to give you guys my Full thoughts so right off the rip this Shoe is absolutely going after that sort Of foam Runner Market there's been tons
Of foam mules that have released over The last couple years New Balance has Even released their own version of a Foam mule I believe last year and none Of them really have the staying power of The Yeezy foam Runner which totally Makes sense the reason the foam Runner Did so well is because it had the name Kanye West behind it but even still the Fresh Foam X recovery is completely sold Out in the black colorway it's almost Sold out in the gray colorway and in the Clay color way there's still a good Amount of sizes left but I wouldn't be Surprised if in the next couple days it Sells that as well and actually while We're on the topic of this shoe selling Out this shoe initially released for a Retail price of $100 or on new balance's Website I think it's $99.99 I make sure To leave affiliate links to this shoe at The top of your screen or in the Description below if you guys want to Check it out for yourself there are a Lot of things things that I like about This shoe there's also a lot of things That I don't like about this shoe and Why don't we get into those things now So first off let's talk about the Comfort of this shoe and that's one of The high points of this shoe like the Easy foam Runners the upper of this shoe Is made up of an injected EVA foam which Makes it very soft very pliable very
Stretchy all that sort of good stuff That you want from a EVA foam mule now Obviously there are some differences Between this shoe and the easy foam Runner first of all this shoe is more Complex and I don't mean in styling I Mean in material usage so looking along The sides of the midsole and wrapping Onto the out soole of the shoe you've Got these rubber pods which in theory Should increase longevity because you're Walking on rubber instead of foam which Should wear out slower now obviously I Haven't worn the shoe long enough to Find out whether that's the case or not I will say that with the easy foam Runners whatever EVA foam that they're Using actually wears down really slowly Like I've had this pair of shoes since 2020 and yes it is worn down but I've Worn this shoe probably at least once a Week for the last four years I don't Know if that's the case with the EVA Foam that they use in the upper of this Shoe but either way I think it's more Durable material than people give it Credit a pretty major difference between The Yeezy foam Runners and these guys is This drop in Fresh Foam midsole this is Actually the namesake of the sneaker This is the Fresh Foam X it gives the Shoe the Fresh Foam X name it's actually A pretty decent amount of foam more than You get in a regular insole it is thin
Towards the toe of the sneaker but as You get towards the heel it gets very Thick especially in this sort of like Pop out area that sticks out through the Bottom of the shoe it's very soft feels Great underfoot is it more comfortable Than the Yeezy foam Runners it's it's Kind of like a tossup on that one like I Didn't notice that big of a difference There is more foam here it is slightly Softer but uh I don't know which shoe Prefer to wear Comfort wise like they're Both pretty comparable this is another Thing that reminds me of my 3D printed Shoes I had a drop an insole like this They were more comfortable than I Thought especially the insole I'm kind Of interested to see does it pull out it Does yeah okay I don't know if it will But you could try I put it in so it Should come out let me try there we go Oh yeah no problem okay so check that Out air inside very cushy it's actually A lot more comfortable than I Thought um I really don't think that They copied but I mean it's there's a Lot of coincidences here according to New Balance this shoe has a massaging Pattern on the insole which it's kind of Just marketing speak it doesn't really Feel any different than a standard Insole underneath your feet at least I Didn't feel it I mean it's similar to What you have on the easy foam Runners
About the same amount of texture and it Feels exactly the same and for me I I Don't even notice it but hey I do love The idea of having a drop in Fresh Foam X Mido and if I could adjust this to fit A pair of sneakers I absolutely would I Might just cut off this bottom part here And just kind of slide it into a I don't Know one of my sneakers just cuz it Feels so good underfoot I wonder if It'll fit in my 3D printed Sho let's see I left my actual pair with Braille oh my Gosh it fits which one is which so in Terms of overall and I guess underfoot Comfort I would give this shoe an a it Feels great underfoot the material in The upper feels similar to a Yeezy foam Runner the big difference between this Shoe and a Yeezy foam Runner is Obviously sizing this shoe is Significantly wider than a foam Runner Which is great for wider footed people And as you could tell I almost dropped It and the way that they're marketing This is as a recovery shoe so this is Something that you throw on after like a Basketball game or a big run or a Marathon or something like that so it Makes sense that it is a little bit wide Footer friendly or a little bit wider Than a standard shoe because you want That kind of room to stretch out your Feet a little bit but I will say again You really do need to go down
Unfortunately probably not a half size Cuz they don't have half sizes but go Down to size because with my true size This shoe is is way too big so sizing Wise I'm giving this shoe like a B minus Or a c because it does fit it does feel Good on feet when you wear it especially When you grab your true size however it Doesn't fit that well but again for a Recovery shoe that might be exactly what You want but now let's talk about the Part of the shoe that most people are Interested in and that of course is the Design I realized I probably shouldn't Be hating on the design of this shoe When it looks so similar to of the 3D Printed shoe that I designed but I got To be honest man it's just not it's not It especially looking down on the top of The shoe it looks fine from the side I Don't mind it from the side it is a Little chunky and weird from the side But it's not as crazy as it looks on the Top I mean compared to the Yeezy phone Runners they're a lot more narrow Towards the toe which I think helps Visually a lot and then even comparing Them to my 3D printed shoes the toes on My shoes are a little bit more narrow Again I think the width could be because It's a recovery shoe but I just think Visually it looks it looks rough shoot They've got the same like shape right There and then the two like lines come
Down on the side yo New Balance I mean The cutouts are even in the same area I Don't know let me know in the comment Section down below if you think they Look similar obviously the color is Going to make them look similar but I Think the shape also looks very very Similar I probably wouldn't throw this On again after the review unless I Literally need it for a recovery Situation and even then I'd probably Throw on some slides but hey maybe I'm The only person that feels this way why Don't we get some people's opinions on This shoe and see what they think of the Design all right so I just stopped by The Apothecary office today and I Figured get people's opinions what's Good dude what's up how much you have my Kicks oh they're new bals yeah I thought They they were um what's that company oh Factory lab yes yeah yeah I could see That they look like the last Factory lab But they're cool would you rock here let Me no I wouldn't you wouldn't Rock them Well it's a it's a Yeezy it's a funny That you said that I can see what doing Here a Yeezy slide if you wanted to Compare there a black fake one right There oh True there yeah I mean this is what it Is I can see they're obviously trying to Get this Market love them though I'm not Going to be like I would not either but
Do you love I'm not game for these these I like these the same so do they look The same though that's another question Right I mean not exactly the same but Yeah would you say that this might have Been inspired by this in some way cuz This was this came out 2022 but I mean This is better than that but not much Like if this is a 10 this is a five and That's a Four man do you want to try it on no no I don't it's got check this out it's got Fresh foam I I if the Yeezy had that That would be really cool that's what I'm saying they compare to the it's Softer for sure it's not like like Mind-blowingly softer but it is softer Yeah also is that how you test your Shoes show everyone what you did Actually yo I'm going to say that these Patharia uh sand socks they're matching Real nice did you color match that was Not on purpose that was not on purpose But yo look at how these look when you Look down on them like if you're wearing Them yeah I don't love it I don't I'm Not going to I don't like Them like they opened a whole new tool For that I know like I understand Sometimes the sneakers like you're Restricted with like like the paneling Right like they created this from zero And they made it look like that so you Give it a five I give it less but in
Terms of that kind of shoe yeah it's a Five all right all right in terms of all Shoes it's like a two so would I Recommend the New Balance Fresh Foam X To other people I'm on the fence first Of all I feel like the price Point's a Little bit High $100 is a lot for a pair Of mules I mean compared to the easy Foam Runners which yes you have to buy For resale in most cases but retail they Go for 80 I think this shoe would have Been better priced at like 80 bucks or Maybe even 60 yes there's a lot more Going on on this shoe than there is on The easy foam Runners so I'm sure that's Why I do balance price it that way Because there are more materials and the Molding is probably more complex than The Yeezy foam Runner but still it seems A little bit pricey especially for a Recovery shoe there are shoes that I'd Wear over this shoe in pretty much every Situation the only way that I'd actually Recommend this shoe is if someone is a Newbound stand and they want like a foam Mule and again it's not terrible it Actually feels amazing on foot like this Is a super comfortable everyday shoe to Wear around the house or to wear you Know places where you need super Comfortable soft mule likee shoes but It's really not something I see myself Throwing on again after this review I'd Probably throw on a pair of Crocs like a
