The Nike Vomero 18 going forward looks set to be the replacement for the Nike Invincible, giving us a daily trainer that still packs that ZoomX foam to make it a comfortable and bouncy one for daily runs and long runs.
Nike is also adding ReactX cushioning into the mix and is making changes to the upper to make it a more comfortable one to laced up compared to the Vomero 17
Testers Kieran and Mike have putting in the time in the new see what’s new and tell you if this is the shoe Nike Invincible fans should grab and whether this is one of the best max cushioned daily trainers to buy in 2025.

Hey this is Mark from the run testers And this is our multiest review of the Nike Vomero 18 so here are those key Night Romero 18 Stats the Vimera 18 cost £135 in the UK And £150 in the US which means a slight Drop in price from the Vimeo 17 weight Wise the Vomero 18 comes in heavier with A size 9 weighing in at 325 gram Compared to 300 gram on the previous Vomero the drop sticks are 10 mm with Stack height increasing at both the heel And the fore foot that is to pack in More ZoomX foam which is now matched With nice react cushioning to provide Comfort protection and slightly counter That ZoomX bounce the upper amazing Engineered mesh one that adds more Padding at the heel and collar with a Waffle style outsole design once again In place to provide plenty of Grip fit then and I ran in a UK 8 and 1/2 which is my regular size in Nike and I like the fit it's all about plush Comfort with a roomy enough toe box the Padded heel collars really hold well no Rubbing just soft comfort these padded Tongues also let you lock the laces down Without any unwanted pressure i think Overall the uppers have a good amount of Flex they secure nicely across the toe Knuckles without being tight so those Uppers flex with your feet as you move i Had no problems with getting good lock
Down and I would recommend going true to Size in these shoes so into fit and I Think the biggest compliment I can pay It to the Nike 18 is that this is the Kind of running shoe when I've been out Running it I've been very happy to keep It on my feet and kind of just walk Around in it that is testament to the Kind of level of comfort that you're Getting in this shoe you're getting Something that is very well padded Particularly in this kind of tongue and Heel collar area i think the one thing I Would say about the kind of heavily Padded tongue is while it does you know Ensure that you've got very good comfort On the top of your foot it does make it A little bit tricky to get good kind of Lock down with the lacing it does work But I think it does take a little bit of Kind of you know some playing around to Get that space up front the toes i think Ample for me i've got mine in a UK size Eight and that is my usual running shoe Size now it's fit well for me and my Skinny feet i do think the kind of Stretchy nature of this upper will make It a little bit more accommodating for a Wider range of feet so that is something To keep in mind when you are looking at Sizes but I do think for most people it Is going to be true to size i think the Biggest takeaways is that it's very well Padded very snug probably a little bit
Kind of different from some of the other NIK shoes in general but I think from a Comfort point of view which I think is What is the main priority with the Vimeo 18 it ticks all the key Boxes testing I've now run well north of 30 miles in the Nike Vomero 18 i keep Putting this shoe on when I'm supposed To be testing other shoes and that Speaks volumes about how much I've Enjoyed running in this shoe now I've Done a big mix of miles i've done some Longer runs up to 90 minutes i've done Some shorter faster efforts i've done Some sort of easy amling 10ks i also did A 5k around marathon pace to test how it Goes when you're moving faster all of That has been on the road and I from all Of that I really like what I've seen Here you got this giant stack of 46 ms Of foam in the back you know to the big Soft padded heel collars and tongues Everything about the Vomero 18 I think Is geared towards plush comfort and it Delivers that really well but it's not Overbaked the dual foam setup I think Makes for a reliable stable cushioned Ride it's still got a little bit of pop All that extra padding in the uppers and The big stack obviously makes this a Heavier shoe and it is a heavier shoe But you're going to be trading weight For guaranteed comfort and actually I Think it runs lighter on the foot than
It might look from the numbers that You're seeing on the scales for a max Stack shoe I would say this almost Doesn't feel max stack not in the sense That we've seen some other shoes it's Not big and cumbersome i thought the Vimera 17 was competent but it lacked Something the Nike Invincible for me is Too big and bulky there's too much going On it's too wide and I think the Vimera 18 kind of drops in somewhere between Like a Pegasus 41 and the Invincible With a ride that's ideal for easy mile Cruising but also has a bit more to it When you move up the pace now I talk a Lot about balance in our shoe reviews And I think this is a good example of it Successfully walked a tight rope it's Soft and cushioned but it's not leg Sapping or sinky it's got great Disappearing fit that lets you get on With business without sort of worrying About the shoe on your foot it's a kind Of shoe that will look after you if you Find yourself on the struggle bus but if You're feeling energetic enough to go to Work it's not totally devoid of pace Either i actually think this could be a Great shoe for a first time marathon Runner or for somebody who wants to race 26.2 to and just get round in comfort Knowing that they've got a shoe that's Got their back oh and on the durability Front it seems to be holding up very
Well no signs of wear in a worrying way At the moment i also think it happens to Be a great looking shoe too so into that Run test now what I can say about the Knight of Merror 18 is that this is a Shoe that I've never been disappointed During my testing to put on and get out Running in i think in terms of what Nike Says this shoe should be how you should Use it where it would best excel I think It kind of delivers on pretty much all Of those fronts in a very good way now I Did have one little concern or kind of Main concern and that was the jump up in Weight and you know I haven't run in the Previous Vimeo 17 but when you do see a New shoe or new version of a shoe kind Of add weight I think you know there is A kind of concern is it going to kind of Match or kind of mirror that experience From the previous shoe which is a very Good experience and it's a shoe that we Have really liked i'm happy to say that It doesn't run as heavy as it looks and I think you know that is a big plus Point here for you know max stack shoe Which you do expect to be heavier than a Cushion daily trainer shoe but it does Help to be you know if it is one that Doesn't feel cumbersome to get out and Running in and I wouldn't say that is The case here with the Nike Vomero 18 Now in terms of the changes with the Midsole what it does to the rides I
Think it's you know it's kind of Generally positive changes i don't think It takes away from what this shoe kind Of really works well and best for you've Got the kind of React X foam you've got That React um or kind of ZoomX on top of That which is you know arguably Nike's Best um cushioning technology and foam And you know is bouncy and also light Now what I think that does the ride it Gives you some kind of nice bounce not The wildest bounce you're going to get From a Nike shoe but it gives you enough There and that kind of that kind of nice Rebound that when you are running longer In it particularly you do get something That feels very comfortable and very Enjoyable to run in i think what the React X foam does here is kind of Stabilize and controls things and I Think the outsole does a little bit of That as well it's quite a broad outsole And I think particularly the heel of This so when you're dropping down back Into the shoe you feel very controlled In the shoe when you're running it i do Feel that you know as a combination of All those things it does a very good job Of helping you kind of tick over you Know particularly in long runs and being Very comfortable and very protective to Kind of do that i think I do think this Is a shoe that's best suited for kind of Easy to moderate paces i have found when
I've kind of tried to do some kind of Rep work in this shoe it hasn't been out Of its remit to want to do that or feel Comfortable to do that running slightly Kind of faster sections maybe not all Out kind of speed but some slightly more Tempo running it hasn't you know it Hasn't felt awkward to do that in the Vime 18 so I think that's one thing Another thing I guess that I was a Little bit kind of concerned or bit wary About whether it would have that kind of Versatility about it but it definitely Has some versatility particularly I Think at the easy to moderate paces i Found it most enjoyable when I've been Able to kind of coast in the shoe for Longer runs and I think that's where Most people are going to get most Enjoyment out of it i think from a Durability point of view I think you are Going to get a long life out of the 80 The outsole is very good you know There's a lot of rubber here you know Maybe not all around the shoe but I Think in the key areas the forefoot a Good amount of the heel it's a good Layer and kind of you know kind of Thickness of rubber there i said I think That helps to give you a quite flexible Feel you know not too overly flexible Just enough to kind of improve the Experience of that ride but I think in Terms of grip I'd be very happy kind of
Warming off the light trails and I have Done that kind of into kind of my parks Near me and it's been absolutely fine to Kind of run in that terrain so overall a Very good experience the night va 18 i Do think that while it has jumped up a Little bit in weight it's kind of made Some changes with the midsole and the Midsole makeup i think it is still very Comfortable i still think it's a very Good long run shoe i do think it can Handle some kind of mixture of running Paces and do it from a in a very Controlled and stable manner and you've Got a very good outsole on here as well Which I do think is going to give you Good life but also give you something That can work on roads and pavements but Also some kind of lighter trail work as Well then I really like this shoe i like The extra cushion compared to the Vimeo 17 which had some pop but didn't quite Feel as lively as I wanted in that shoe It's a different ride now definitely if You like the 17 this is a big change but The 18 here now offers much more cushion And spring i'm surprised for a big stack Shoe with that massive 46 ms in the hill That it almost doesn't feel like it you Don't notice that as much i didn't think It would there's still a lot of control To what is a pretty smooth ride i like The narrow platform here that you bring Some precision more than you'll get with
Some other Max stack shoes i think that Contributes to why you don't notice the Weight as much on the foot it feels nice And precise and a bit agile now I was a Fan of the Nike Pegasus 41 for being a Good traditional all round that was easy To run in and even with the extra stack I think the Vimera 18 hasn't moved a Million miles away from that kind of Vibe this is a shoe you could just pick Up and run lots of different efforts There's more cushion but it's still Controlled it still feels natural though This shoe isn't controlling you also at Sub 140 I'd say it's priced really Competitively too for a lot of runners I Think this will have all the hallmarks Of a good allrounder probably leaning Towards the longer and slower miles People who don't mind having a slightly Heavier shoe on foot but it's definitely What I would call a suitcase shoe if you Could only take one shoe somewhere this Will cover a lot of bases now I know Many of you want to know how this Compares to the other Pegasus shoes i've Not run the Plus or the Premium so I Can't comment on those but I will be Doing a head-to-head with the Pegasus 41 On the channel soon so make sure you are Subbed to the channel to hear when that Lands otherwise for me I think it's a Big thumbs up on the Vimeo 18 i think It's a much improved shoe i really like
What it delivers i think it's at a good Price and I've enjoyed it it's made it Into my rotation so yeah it's a big tick For me so my verdict on the Nikomera 18 Is that I think this is going to be a Shoe that a lot of people are going to Like now this is a kind of max stack Kind of daily trainer shoe it's not a Super trainer it's not aspiring to be I Don't think but in terms of being a shoe That you could probably use for a lot of Your runs you know outside of your all Out kind of faster sessions this is a Shoe that can do it this is a good long Run shoe i think in terms of being a Shoe that has versatility absolutely can Do that despite that kind of jump up in Weight kind of easy moderate uptempo Paces absolutely this is a shoe that can Handle it i think if you kind of look at It from a kind of a 17 perspective now As I said I haven't run in that shoe There is a jump up in weight and I think If people prefer that kind of lighter Feel of 17 it's probably going to be Available for less money i think I've Seen it kind of less than £100 that Might be a shoe to still kind of Consider against the Vra 18 probably Give you a lot of the same kind of Traits as well um but you know you're Not getting that kind of extra ZoomX Foam as a starter in comparison i think The and I mentioned this in the first
Video the biggest comparison I think for Me is the Brooks Glycerin Max which is More expensive i think has similar Qualities to the Knight Vero 18 has that Kind of nice rocker to it kind of a very Protective shoe again another good long Run shoe and can you know tick off that Daily mileage in a very kind of nice Kind of fashion if I had to pick between The two shoes I think I would go for the Mera 18 i think the fit works a little Bit better for me i kind of like the Padding or the the kind of um the design Of the padding in around the heel collar And the tongue in comparison to the Glycerin Max and I think that it handles Its weight a little bit better in Comparison and you look at the price Point of the Maro 18 I think there's a Few shoes that kind of match it in terms Of its traits in terms of what it can Deliver you know in terms of experience So I think as I said if you're looking For a kind of daily trainer shoe that is Very protective has a nice ride I think Has versatility about it as well and is At a good price the night 18 is well Worth looking at okay so there you have It that is our multi tester take on the Nike for 18 if you've got any questions About this shoe or other shoes you Desperately want to see it compared to Do let us know in the comments as always Like and subscribe hit that little bell
