The Dream Chaser is the first running shoe from kit brand Rabbit. Designed for daily training miles, it’s a shoe focused on comfort, featuring a stretchy upper designed to be soft and breathable, and a Flowstate Foam ETPU midsole that offers a good level of cushioning.
In addition to that midsole, there’s also a contoured Blumaka insole to increase the softness and improve energy return, as well as two carbon fibre strips that sit on the midsection of the outsole that aims to increase stability and performance.
Tom got hold of the shoe when he was out in Boston and has taken it out on a couple of runs to get some early thoughts.

Hey Tommy from the Run testers in this Video I'm going to be reviewing the Dreamchaser from rabbit let's see what I [Music] Thought the rabbit Dreamchaser costs 137 Or $160 it weighs 294 G or 10.4 o for Men in a size 8 and the drop is 5 Mm the Dreamchaser is the first running Shoe from kit brand rabbit designed for Daily training miles it's shoe focused On Comfort featuring a stretchy upper Designed to be soft and breathable and a Flow State foam etpu midsole that offers A good level of cushioning in addition To that midsole there's also a contoured Blaka insole to increase the softness And improve energy return as well as two Carbon fiber strips that sit on the Midsection of the out soole that aims to Increase stability and performance the Out soole features a modest level of Rubber around the outer sections of the Shoe to improve grip and protect the Midsole Phone so the fit for me in the Dreamchaser I'm a size eight in the UK Um I did find this to be a very roomy Shoe there's plenty of space in the Forefoot probably a little bit too much For me so I probably would have sized Down half a size given the opportunity It's still a very comfortable shoe There's a lot of space around the side Of the shoe if you have a wide foot this
Is probably going to be absolutely fine For you um but when I've been out Running in it I have found that um the WID of it does mean that it lacks a Little bit of security in the upper uh So take that into consideration if You've got narrow feet um so I would Size half a size down in this shoe uh if I was to get a new Pair so if you're from the UK you Probably don't know a lot about the Brand rabbit uh rabbit is a US brand Which has traditionally over the last Seven years or so produced running kits So tops um shorts other things as well Hats stuff like that um and this is the First shoe that they've launched it's Something that we've seen other running Shoe brands do over the past few years Um that don't traditionally make shoes Where they've launched a shoe this is The first one from rabbit and it's Called the Dreamchaser uh it was Released whilst I was in Boston for the Boston Marathon um and the design of the Shoe and the colors and the fact that it Has Boston written inside the shoe um is Because it was launched at Boston Marathon um now the shoe itself is it's The first shoe from the brand generally When that happens it tends to be a daily Shoe a shoe that sort of ticks a lot of Boxes um and is accessible to a lot more People Brands don't tend to release
Their first shoe as a performance shoe Or anything like that um they want Something that is going to be applicable To all of their audience um so this shoe Has um a few elements in it that are Really designed for that really focus on That the biggest of those is the midsole So this midsole is very very soft it Reminds have something like the uh on Cloud surface 7 where you can really Feel that squish as soon as you step Into it it feels like a very very soft Shoe um it's a nice feeling uh and I uh The runs that I've done in it so I've Done two runs in this so far um i' done The sh a ShakeOut run in Boston which I Wasn't really paying much attention to The shoe at the time so I went for Another 5K run uh tonight to give it a Proper run and to test it out um and to Pick up the pace a little bit to see how It felt um that midle is really really Comfortable that's the first thing you Notice about this shoe the upper the Midle it's all very soft um very Welcoming and just feels really nice if You're wearing the shoe to walk around In it would feel like a very very Comfortable shoe to wear um it's a nice Shoe if you're doing uh for me majority Of my run that I did today was an easy Run recovery run uh I did London Marathon 3 days ago so my legs are a bit Wrecked so this is a good shoe um to to
Try out at this point um in my uh my Running calendar um and at easy Paces Feels great feels really nice that Midsole is nice and soft really sinks The feet in um there's a little bit of Energy return from it not loads I would Say it's an overwhelming feeling of Softness as opposed to energy return and Bounce um but it's not an unpleasant Feeling shoe when you're out running in It it's definitely a shoe that skews More towards those easier runs where you Just want something very very Comfortable uh the upper on the shoe I Did mention in the fit section that is Quite hard to get a good lock down fit In this it's a very comfortable upper And it has this very stretchy uh Material in in the upper as well which Makes it very comfortable to wear um but It doesn't feel particularly secure so What I noticed when I was running today Is that when I turned Corners when I Stepped on an area of the ground that Was a little bit at an angle or Something I did feel that my foot Shifted in the shoe a little bit because Of the way that it's designed quite Similar to something like the New Balance fresh rame 1080 V 11 or V12 Where that had that soft stretchy Material um it works well for Comfort But doesn't work so well um if you're Really looking for support so it's not a
Shoe that would be used really per for Performance running because of that uh Lack of support when you're when you're Out running in it it's definitely a shoe That's for easy runs where you're not Really pushing it too far you're not Twisting and turning too quickly um but It is a very comfortable upper um and I Definitely didn't have any issues with It when I was running at a nice easy Pace um other things I would say about This shoe uh so the out soole is I Didn't have any issues with it it's not Been wet when I've run I've done the First two runs in this shoe so I haven't Had any issues with it uh in terms of The outso uh it doesn't have coverage in The middle section of the shoe uh only Around the outer side presumably to save A bit of weight um but it feels Absolutely fine no issues there the only Thing I would note about the design of The outsole it has it has these carbon Fiber strips around the midsection of The shoe um I believe these are meant to Add a little bit more stability um add a Little bit more uh control over the shoe Because it is quite a soft midsole it's Maybe to add a little bit more rigidity Uh to that midsole um I've never seen That done in a Sho before uh it Definitely I didn't I didn't really Notice it I don't think it did a great Deal from those e the easy runs that I
Was doing um but what I did notice is Sometimes because it's hard uh it would Click on on the ground so I'm I'm not Sure if that's going to be an issue um Or an annoyance an annoyance in the shoe Uh but if this outside rubber wears down A bit I think that's going to become More prominent and you're going to start Hearing a little bit more clicking from This um these strips so um it's a novel Idea I don't know I don't know if what The benefits are like I'll test continue To test out and see if I feel any Benefits from those strips um but Overall I would say from those first two Runs it's really is a shoe that is Designed for very easy daily miles um You can definitely have a very enjoyable Comfortable running this shoe have no Issues in it um and uh I would be more Than happy to pick this up for easy runs Recovery runs uh at the moment I don't Think I would particularly um take it Much further than that so I definitely Wouldn't race in this shoe uh I think it Would be okay for picking up the pace if You're doing strides and things probably Wouldn't do an interval session or Anything like that because of the lack Of support I'm feeling in the upper of The shoe but definitely for most of the Easy runs that I'm doing um I think it's Absolutely fine um so yeah I think it's I've enjoyed running it so far um but I
Do think from what I've experienced in It I think it might be a limited shoe um For a lot of Runners so my verdict on the rabbit Dreamchaser from those first two runs uh I think it's a solid comfortable uh shoe Which really comes in at that lower end Of the spectrum where it's people that Just want um a really comfortable uh Running shoe um maybe for shorter Distance runs easy runs recovery runs Things like that I don't think it's Going to have a lot of benefits when it Comes to the performance side of things Um as a daily shoe it's definitely not The most versatile shoe I think out There it's not going to be competing With things like the sorin speed 4 uh The New Balance Rebel B4 uh but I do Think it's very similar in style to Something like the oncloud surface 7 Where it's really just soft comfortable Um and a lot of people will probably Like it for that it's also coming at Quite a good price so in the UK it comes At £ 137 which isn't too bad for a new Shoe um especially one that comes from a Brand which is specifically designed um For for sort of nice looking fashionable Stuff where you tend to see clothes and Shoes become quite a lot more expensive 137 pounds is not too bad uh I think uh If you really like the rabbit shoe brand I think this is a good entry from the
Brand as a as a first shoe I I Definitely think a lot of people will Like this um it's not a shoe that if you Like the brand you're going to buy it And be really annoyed that the shoe is Just awful I think it's fine I think it Does a good job I think it's very Comfortable um but if you are looking For a solid daily shoe that can do a lot More performance um a bit a bit more uh Responsiveness all those sorts of things I don't think you're going to get it From this I think it's just going to be A comfortable daily shoe that a lot of People can use for easy runs basically Um but it's so far I've I've I've Enjoyed using it and um I will continue To test it out and see what it's like Over longer runs um and maybe I'll push It to its limits uh on an interval Session uh over the next week or so That's it for me on this first run on The rabbit Dreamchaser thanks a lot for Watching don't forget to like And Subscribe and click that little bell and Check the channel out for all the other Videos you've got coming up and if you Go into the catch below you can also Find a link to our podcast which comes Out at the end of each month thanks lot For watching catch you next time
