On Brands specifically Footwear Brands Focusing on the more commercialized Holidays and they're more so focusing on Holidays that they can story tell that They can tie to a culture or that can Resonate with the consumer a lot more I've seen a decline in Valentine's Day And I think it's for that reason Specifically because like I'm not saying Cliche at this point but it's like a Given and if I were brand I would much Rather focus on something that can Resonate with the consumer more like Black history month right where you can You can tie the holiday to a specific Person and tell their story bring to Light the community that follows with That person or what they can resonate With so I feel like that's one of the Main reasons we don't really see as many Valentine's Day drops anymore but the Type of person I am for Valentine's Day I celebrate my significant other every Single day and I do what I can to make Sure that she is loved in any way that She likes to receive love right because There's a difference between how you Articulate love versus how you perceive It and you have to make sure that you're Not just like giving love how you think They deserve to be loved so my boy Didn't grew up but in terms of the Sneaker assets of this the sneaker facet Of this whole conversation I know for a

Honoring it because obviously the rest Of the world is looking at this specific Day but again like depending on your Partner you may not want to just skip Out on it facts because then you know he Might have some frowns and stuff like That but you know everybody built Different I take it with a grain of salt And just like hey you know what we're Going to do something for Valen day but Just know that the treatment you're Getting today is not going to feel but So special to you because because I Treat you special every day but as far As Footwear and Valentine's Day right Yeah I believe that they are slowing Down because it's getting exhausted yeah Of course it's only but so much you can Do yep from the head wear space to Footwear to apparel what really embodies Valentine's Day when it comes to showing In the physical sense Hearts chocolates The color red red pink brown that combo It's only about so many iterations you Can put together yeah okay you put it on A new you put on a new model SL okay but It looks like all the other stuff uh you Put instead of red leather you do Red Suede or velvet or something okay cool How many times you going to do that you Know so a lot of brands have done a good Job I feel like in the past of putting Out models for Valentine's Day but it's Just it's so tired these days and also

History related to this besides colors From the motherland you know I mean like Same difference I talked about with Valentine's Day why can't you have a a Amama maner black I mean like why not Like there's other brands that work with Like Nike and Adidas and other uh brands That are blackowned businesses that they Collab with facts so why not tap into That for Black History Month you do it For any like on a random you know like The am maner fives and the threes that The newer threes that's coming out like What's the special occasion there is None there is none they're just they're Just doing it so why not While You Were Sleeping kind of thing that was the Overarching and it's like that's cool But it's like New Balance why don't you Have Joe Fresh good doing Black history mon pack you know like I Said like on the Nike side why don't you Have amama or a Travis Scott or somebody Doing something for where they come from I feel like Jordan brand is taking the Band One and kind of like subtly tying That into black history month because a Lot of their celebrities in the lineup Are African-American and I think it pays Homage to celebrating African-Americans To see see their full lineup get like Front stage with like such a pivotal Pair in the sneaker culture but I do Understand what you're saying where
There is no like direct correlation to The culture on an aspect that has Nothing to do with patterns right Question for you is who would you like To see be the face of a collaboration or A campaign that you think would be able To tell Black History Month well we Talked about this before I would love Them to have nigu do something right That would be fire yeah like I said uh Travis anybody under the n/ Jordan Umbrella even like I said even other Brands like salony what's up with uh J Tips yeah yeah J tips he's definitely Getting some momentum and traction into The new year yeah like he's he's Crushing it bro like he's crushing it But again I don't want to read too deep Into it but I as a black consumer of These Brands look at it like well you do It any other time why not have these big Names tied to something that actually Relates to them yeah and that's why like I know you mentioned like Jordan brand And stuff like that with uh the band Ones uh being out and tying into the Black athletes my problem with that is Almost all your athletes are black Anyway so it's not like you're doing Anything special and just keeping it a Being for the most part as far as the Faces of the brand to the public eye are The reason that you're at the level that You're at now because of black the black
And brown so you're not doing any extra Service by saying oh we're going to put You on we want to make sure we make this To focus during Black History Month you Know make sure all the black athletes It's you got a lot to pick from because That's most of your roster and it's not A knock to them in the manner of you Don't care but it's just like you can do Things just like in life you can do Things with people and don't consider Things and it can come off as in Ignorant and uneducated and the lack Thereof other things you know what I Mean I can see what you're saying yeah So yeah like you got you got all these Powerhouse names make them something for The culture I feel like I can easily see Someone like w being a really good face Of a full like Black History Month Campaign M whether whatever brand he Might like really T I know like he's he Wears Nike and Jordan brand heavy I know For a fact that's not all W wears right So I could easily see any brand picking Him up to be the face of a black history Month because he has so much of a root In not only the sneaker culture but Music as well and just fashion too why Not say A you know what next year we Would love for you to uh design a a Black history uh phone posit yeah or get A bunch of different black folks and I Would say on the Celebrity level and the
Non maybe just the design level put them Together to make a peg I've been seeing A lot more support in the realm of like African-Americans doing collaborative Things especially in our Niche like Sneakers and fashion like I've been Seeing a lot of panel talks with a lot Of like African-American forward Creatives which is beautiful to see Because now more than ever it's like Pivital for us to like be on the Forefront of the scene right and like Making sure everyone's voices are heard With that kind of situation but I do Really feel like there needs to be an Even mesh of like celebrity and Non-celebrity so that these Brands can Properly tie in to the consumer right Right because it needs to be relatable Not just from a celebrity level but from Base level I make 50,000 a year kind of Person you know I definitely do feel Like there's a a decline in opportunity For connecting to the culture even the Design and everything bro I look back at Things like when he had the I think they Call like the Nike Elite Black History Month pack when it was like the LeBron's The Kobes the KD for like the Air Raids I remember I vividly remember that Pattern and all that stuff like granted They were what I'm talking about like Pattern based yeah but they still had a Very cool for the most part like roll
Out and like meaning to them and behind Them and I feel like as time went on Just like Valentine's Day it became more Lackluster like e we want to just give You an all black Air Force One make it a Green bottom put a uh put the African Flag the Pan African flag on the back And maybe make the lining tribal print And okay cool Black History Month and It's like okay do you think it might Have something to do with like the time Of year as well like I know like January February is kind of like slow and tricky For Brands because they're just getting Acclimated to like q1 and really trying To figure out what the year looks like So I'm not trying to like justify them But I'm trying to think about it from Like a business standpoint like maybe It's like too early in the year to put Too much emphasis on like these specific Holidays granted both Valentine's Day And black history month should be Celebrated every single day right like That's one thing that I think go hand Inand with both of these holidays is That like something you should Definitely be celebrating every single Day yeah I mean hey you know black History is our history yeah exactly I do Try to think about it from a business Standpoint and see does it make sense For these Brands to invest so much Energy in something so early on like are
They planning ahead enough to where These holidays are being specified and Noticed maybe they're not that ties back Into the care portion yeah exactly I Mean exactly we get Christmas roll outs Before Christmas cuz we know coming up I Need these Brands to put as much effort Into Black History Month as they do for like Allar weekend right like we need that Same energy right and I look like we Know at the end of the day when it comes To these Brands it's always going to be The bottom line of money yeah of course And you can't knock that because at the End of the day money makes the world Right I just slightly always feel some Type of way with the effort that's being Put into it and like you pointed out Like hey most of your athletes and Musicians and everything under the sun That's under you're under these Brands Look like me so yeah like overall it's Kind of like how hard is it to put Effort into the people that you already Have and I know I keep like reiterating The same thing over and over and over Because I'm just looking at the entire Roster with most of these Brands talko Is bro you have these big household Names let them put work In for a special time of the year even Though like we said it should be Celebrated 24/7 but this is a dedicated
