Hey people welcome to the run test to Our full review of the sudu SRM 01 a Debut daily trainer from a brand new Running brand sudu now sudu says this Shoe is designed for fast-paced Performance at any distance at £125 at The cheaper end of the daily trainer Shelves but does this newcomer have what It takes to do battle with the best in What is a fiercely fiercely contested Area well watch on for our sudu srm1 Review first up some quick details then And the sudu SRM 01 stack height comes In at 27 Ms in the heel 19 Ms in the 4T For an 8 mil drop it weighs in at 262 G Or 9.25 o in our men's UK and a half Test shoe on price it's £1 1225 in the UK and it's not currently available in The US let's give you a whip round of the Shoe then starting with the midsole Which features what sudu calls its Spring foam plus midsole it's High Rebound engineered tpe super critical Foam with a comparatively low stack Compared to what we're getting in the Rest of the daily trainers these days It's a little more traditional maybe Something akin to something like the Brooks Glycerin 21 the GH 16 that kind Of thing now the midsole geometry is Quite flat on this shoe there's not much By way of a rocker and we'll talk more About that later up top you get a speed

Weave plus engineered knit upper that's Quite thick but has a good amount of Flex it's Airy enough there are medium Padded heel collars here some flat rack In tongues to save weight they also have These elasticated straps that hold the Tongues nicely in place flip them over And there's a really generous covering Of out soole rubber with a few different Grip patterns here in the heels and in The forefoot areas this is nicely Protective and offers good durability Overall to the Shoe so then when it comes to fit as you Can see there's a good amount of room at The end of the if it a bit too much There's a bit of Bend there there's more Than a thumbs width I would say and Because of the flex of the uppers and The way this mid soole bends that's the Bit that can feel like it's a little bit Too long overall you've got nice Flexible uppers so there's a good sort Of holding here and into the toe Knuckles but there's plenty of flex so They don't feel cramped across that Midsection there although you do get Good lock down hold as you come back up I managed to get good lacing hold across The top of the midfoot here you got Pretty flat lay But this is slightly reinforced so I Don't get too much or any in fact lace Pinch from lacing down and then you're

Moving up into the heel cers and you've Got that kind of medium padding there's A good amount of flex here and but they Hold relatively firm The Backs come up Quite high but I didn't have any digging In because it's quite kind of Bendy and Flexy there as well so overall I think Apart from that extra in the lengthwise I think the rest of the fit is good and My instinct is to say go true to size Unless you want to Try shortening those but I would I would Leave them as they are because I think Everything else might become a bit Cramped now in testing I clocked around 25 miles in the sudu srm1 most of those At very easy Pace up to an hour each Time with the odd faster effort thrown In to test the fastpac potential now It's fair to say that debut shoes often Hit wider than Mark they can be too firm Too blocky they're not always that Refined when it comes to the uppers and The construction and the materials that Is not the case here with this shoe this Is generally a well put together shoe With good quality construction pretty Good materials in terms of the uppers And the padding and all that kind of Stuff it's got all the hallm marks of a Running shoe that will last long miles From a durability perspective however While it's generally a competent Consistent performer with pretty

Balanced cushioning and energy it didn't Really blow me away it feels slightly Safe slight slly unremarkable and that's The problem when you're dropping a shoe Into an area with some really serious Competition and that's the daily trainer Set up at the moment there's so many Good shoes out there that's a bit of a Problem if it doesn't really well the Super critical midsole is at the firmer Responsive end rather than cushioned and Springy so that will depend on which Kind of preference you have there that's Not necessarily A Bad Thing depends what You're looking for but don't expect the Liveliest ride it's also not entirely Dull and dead but it's certainly more Brooks go 16 or glycerin 21 than it is Like Asic Nova blast 4 and if you like Your shoes pillowy soft or big stacked With that kind of high rebound sort of Squishing respond this shoe probably Won't be for you it reminds me a little Of a lower stack Tamer night vomero 17 Or maybe even the newer Adidas Supernova Rise it's in that kind of ballpark that May be not even as Lively as those shoes Now I mentioned they fit a bit long and That means the ride can feel a little Bit Slappy up front where the extra Length leaves the 4 foot under the toes For me at least feeling a little bit Disconnected for my feet now often with Fir more responsive midsoles that's kind

Of offset where you get a bit of roering To add some snap and smoothness to the Transitions but that's missing here I Think a more curved sort of for foot More rocked feel here would pep up the Ride a bit and perhaps tick this shoe Sort of closer to an energetic kind of Hoka Max 6 Vibe whereas it's just a Little bit dull without it all it's just A smidge and flat though stability is Good so if that's something you're after This will offer that there's a nice Reliability to The Landings as well with A consistent platform to run off so it Does have some things that it's doing Right verdict then and for a debut shoe The sudu srm1 gets a lot right it's got Well-built durability Comfort is Generally solid and while it lacks the Energy of other top daily trainers like The sck indorfin speed the HX 6 and Overlast 4 all of those kind of shoes It's not devoid of energy entirely it Kind of drops into that reliable Workhorse bracket it's cushioned enough To take the edge off the road but it's Not going to really kind of fire you Through the miles with any kind of sort Of propulsion or that much sort of extra Efficiency in terms of those gains if You're a paid up member of the big stack Bouncy cushion Brigade the lower stack Firmat tuned Pham that you're going to Get here might not be for you if you

Like more ground connection a consistent Ride that's nicely reliable with a you Know stable platform to run off it might Just work though I still think there are Better options even for this kind of Ride out there now I enjoyed my miles in The pseudo srm1 but I didn't fall in Love they're good not great when it Comes to Upper Pace potential they can't Really compete with the live list Dany Trainers and even though they're well Priced at 1225 they don't quite hit the Spot like shoes like the socony ride 17 At 135 or the 130 Adidas Supernova rise Even the Puma velocity Nitro 3 which I've not personally running but I know Our popular here on the run test is for £10 pound now if you're looking for a Longlasting Workhorse for General Training a shoe that will happily step Off the treadmill into some more Dynamic Gym floor drills this might be a solid Bet but as a performance daily trainer I Think there are better options out there So there you have it that's been our Review of the new debut shoe from sudu The sudu srm1 we hope you found it Useful don't forget to hit like if you Did maybe share it with other Runners if You think they'll find it interesting And of course hit subscribe if you've Not done so already if you're looking For a killer daily trainer there's a Video I'm popping up on the channel now

That you should check out get stuck into That otherwise as ever thanks very much For popping by and watching this we hope To see you again soon and in the Meantime happy running people
