Welcome to the latest episode of Shoe Care Academy as Pretty Boy Rob has the BEST Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low release of 2024 in hand for this installment. Disagree? Let us know.
In this episode, Rob will show you how to best protect these (or any favorite shoe) using our Water + Stain Repellent and Sole Shields.
Before Rob gets into protecting these, he gives us a detailed breakdown of the “Velvet Brown” Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG’s all-suede construction. Though it’s a tougher suede than most sneakers, Reshoevn8r products will still do the trick.
From there, Rob will give you a look at what comes with our Sole Shields offering. These will perfectly protect any sneaker up to size 13. These also come with alcohol prep pads. Not included but necessary are scissors, a pen, and a heat gun. Unfortunately, a blow dryer won’t do the trick, so a heat gun of at least 500 watts is recommended.
Even with a new shoe, you’ll want to use these prep pads since oil from people’s hands or dust can potentially complicate the application if not cleaned properly beforehand. If it’s a used sneaker, we recommend using a Reshoevn8r product to get a deep clean before prep.
Once that’s done, it’s time to place the shoe on top of the film and trace the outsole with a pen. Then, Rob cuts outside of the pen lines to give you more wiggle room during application. Repeat the same steps for the second piece of film.
If you tend to heel drag more, we recommend having a bit more Sole Shield on the back part of the shoe. If you find yourself having more scuffs on the front of the shoe, you can have more Sole Shield in the front.
After peeling it, Rob carefully places the adhesive side onto the outsole and works it into the grooves of the traction. Leave the excess around the shoe and don’t fold, as that will be one of the last steps. Then, use the heat gun periodically to really work the Sole Shield into the outsole.
Now, it’s time to seal it and fold the excess onto the midsoles.
If any bumps start to appear, pull on it and adjust it to ensure it’s applied properly. To make it more presentable, Rob grabs a blade to cut the extra film.
Don’t forget to enter our January giveaway to win the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Velvet Brown” in your size. All you have to do is comment your shoe size, subscribe to the channel, and follow Reshoevn8r on Instagram.
When using the heat gun, be sure to only apply it to the outsole, as any other areas could warp or damage the pair. Now that the Sole Shields are applied, your shoes will be protected up to 10,000 steps! To protect the upper, use our Water and stain Repellent to finish the job.
Spray 2-3 coats and wait 15 minutes between each. Once coated, wait 20 minutes before putting it to the test.
Ready to protect your sneakers? Head over to Reshoevn8r.com and save 20% off with code “Velvet20” at checkout.
See you next week!

And here we have the dopest Travis gots Release of 2024 at me in the comments if Yall are trying to argue but for real Though whether you picked up these Sneakers or any new heat and you're Trying to keep them protected then this Video is for you hey yo what's popping What's up YouTube Welcome Back to the Channel my name is pretty Bo Rob and I'll be hanging out with you for this Episode of shoe care Academy for this Video is going to be a little bit Different since these shoes aren't dirty We're not going to be cleaning them we Got to keep them protected to do so we Are going to be showcasing our water Andan repellent plus our soul Shields But before we protect these kicks I want To hit you guys with a quick little Boxing segment so with all that being Said there's not much left to it but to Do it so let's get straight into this Episode of shoe care Academy these Travis Scots are covered In a nice dark brown suede all around The shoe with a light brown toe box and Side panels This is an all suede shoe But it's not plush or really soft it's Kind of a tougher suede but I'm sure Rejuvenated products are going to work Great on it obviously we have that Trademark backwards swoosh on the Lateral side and a dark brown sole that Really drives home the dark mocha Velvet
Brown colorway of this sneaker Overall I'm really digging these Sneakers aesthetically it is screaming Travis Scott you got your dark brown Vibes your Autumn colorways plus those Pink laces it's just that chef's kiss on Top but let us know in the comment Section down below your thoughts but Right now let's unbox our soul Shield so You guys can see exactly what you're Getting when you make this purchase Obviously you get two different films to Protect a pair of sneakers up to a size 13 one side you're going to see that Traction so that you're not slipping When you're wearing these and the other Side is that adhesive film it also comes With some alcohol prep pads but I'll Talk about these once we're actually Using them these are all the components That do come inside your soul Shields However there are a few other items that You will need to get the job done Properly with that said you'll need some Scissors and a pen plus a handy dandy Heat gun we get a lot of questions in Customer service if you can apply them Using a blow dryer unfortunately it just Doesn't generate enough heat so we would Highly recommend a heat gun that's at Least 500 WTS so let's go and set all These components aside and start with Our alcohol prep pads All right to start the process off we
Are going to be using our alcohol prep Pad to clean the bottom of these Outsoles even though these shoes are a Brand new sneaker a lot of time people's Fingerprints and oils can get on the Soles and it can just mess up that Application that's why we always Recommend wiping down the bottoms Regardless if it's a new or used pair of Sneakers if it's a used pair of sneakers You may want to go ahead and use a Ruminator product and get a deep clean Prior to doing so you can get that kit Right now reator.com Once you out the way let's proceed to The Next as you can see I'm working on the Midsole with this alcohol prep pad Because that's where I plan to bring the So Shield up as well I'm all done Cleaning off any oils that may be Trapped on these sneakers now we're Going to work straight with our film Like I said you have two sides one's Going to be traction and the other is Going to be the side that you're Actually going to lay the shoe on and Trace it always recommend using a pen or A marker I prefer a pen just because a Marker there's always a chance you can Nick the shoe and cause some stains so With a pen it's just going to be a Little more easier super simple process If you guys all pass thir grade you guys
Know how to trace all you got to do is Just trace the Outsole all right guys quick Life Update My pen did run out however I did what I Can do and this is what we're working With if you guys all past third grade You guys know how to trace as you can See you see the silhouette of the sole What I'm going to do right now is just Cut on the outside of the line the Reason why I like cutting on the outside Of the line is cuz it's just going to Give you more wiggle room to mess with As you're applying it to the shoe We got one out the way jump to the Next both so Shields are cut and ready To be applied to the sols however before I do that I want to note a couple things Like I said earlier they're great to Prevent from toe drag or heel drag so Depending on what you do more you may Want to apply the soul Shield a little Higher I know some people like to kick Their toes so they want to keep that Protected other people have heel drag so If that's your case you just want to Apply it a little higher in the back to Help prevent from that however for the Sake of this video my goal is to get it Right on the line if we get a quick Little closeup the goal would be to get The whole soul Shield exactly on that Line unfortunately that may be a little Challenging I know I got the Vic
Almighty beanie on but I'm not Vic Almighty when it comes to attention to Detail and just that precision and Accuracy so this may be a little more Sloppier but again this is a great video To show you how exactly if you're out There how it might look not all of us Can be as mighty as Vic but with that Said let's get to applying first what we Got to do is go ahead and just peel it Off just like a sticker and this is Probably one of the most challenging Steps of the process is you just want to Make sure you get it stuck on that salt In that right position the first time Right now I'm just going to grab the Shoe and just place it in my my lap just To give me a nice little surface to work Off of just so I can apply it nice and Smooth all right I did line that up nice And evenly now I'm just pushing in from The middle working out to try to get it To apply without falling over these Corners you want to do that last after You apply some heat another thing I want To know is all SS are going to be Different so you'll just want to make Sure you custom apply as much pressure As as you need to specifically for that Shoe just so it can get in every nooks And Crannies so as I'm pushing it into these Grooves it is getting stuck but once I Apply the heat it's really going to get
In there so with that said let's use the Heat Gun you can even use your pen to help Really get it in all those grooves [Applause] All right guys another Pro tip when You're replying your soul Shield is grab A microfiber towel since you're using a Heat gun The Shield can get pretty hot So using a towel with your finger it's Just a safe way so you don't get burnt What I recommend is starting from the Inside and just pushing out to get any Air bubbles out of the sides before we Go Ahad and seal them it is about time For me to seal it so I am just going to Start from the back and then work my way Up however it really doesn't matter you Can start from the front and work your Way back just whatever works best for You [Music] All right guys as I'm working to the top Of the toe box this is where it's really Going to require some finesse and just Concentration if you see you know it Start to lift make some bumps all you Got do is really just pull out just Tighten a little bit and then just Really reset if you get any of these Bumps towards the toe box again pull Back lift up until you just get the Smoothest possible Application I'm all done with the first
Soul shield and for 100% transparency it Did take me about 10 minutes obviously Every shoe and so is going to be Different so one shoe may take you a Little longer the key thing is just Attention to detail and really pay Attention to every little Groove and Make sure it applies evenly overall I Think I did a really good job and Applied the soul Shield like I said my Goal was to get it really on that line Majority of the Soul Shield does sit Exactly on that line unfortunately in The inside it didn't quite hit as well As the top of the toe box I do just have To trim this off just to make it look More presentable so to do so we are just Going to grab one of Vic's xacto knives And just cut the so Shield Off oh my gosh I'm so Scared all right on to the next one We're going to proceed following the Same exact steps all right guys as I'm Working on applying the soci shield to This left sneaker I do want to talk to You guys a little bit about our January Giveaway you have a chance to win this Very sneaker in your own shoe size so if You're trying to win these dark mocha Travis Scott ones all you got to do is Comment down below your shoe size make Sure you're subscribe to the channel and You're following us on Instagram as you guys can see I am
Applying heat in intervals working kind Of section at a time the reason for that Is cuz you don't want to apply too much Heat to the out soole cuz it could Potentially warp it also when applying Heat you want to make sure you're only Applying it to the outs solar sols Because if you're putting on the uppers There is a good chance that you may burn Or damage it all right guys so let's get A closeup of this one as you can see the Toe box it lined up pretty good except There is some areas that I did go a Little over that I just have to cut in My honest opinion it's always better to Have more Soul shield and cut it off to Get the exact spot rather than cutting Too short and it doesn't apply evenly so With that said let me go ahead and uh Dockor up this back All right these so Shields are looking Great they're applied on both sneakers They are going to protect them up to 10,000 steps now we got to protect these Uppers though and to do so we're going To be using our aerosol water insane Repellent on our website we actually Sell two different versions you could Cop the aerosol or or you can get our Waterbased version both are designed to Do the same exact things they're going To protect your shoes from liquid based Stains however one is an aerosol and Protects it kind of with silicone and
The other one is a water-based formula For the water one we can ship that Worldwide but for our aerosol we can Only ship to the US I personally like Applying our aerosol a little better it Just gets it nice even coats and allows Me to really fully protect the whole Shoe versus the water one is more of a Mist again both work great certain People like different products I just Prefer this one with that said let's go Out side and protect them for best Possible results with our water and Stain repellent we always recommend Spraying about two to three even coats On the shoe between each coat let it sit For about 10 minutes and after that last Coat wait 20 minutes before doing Something like This as you saw majority of that water Literally just repelled off the shoe However we still have some water beads That are literally just sitting on the Shoe which is a good sign because it Didn't get trapped in the material all You have to do is grab a towel now the Shoe's fully dry like we never poured Water on it check it Out there it is that's going to do it That's going to wrap things up for Today's episode of shoe care Academy on These Travis SC lows that we hit with The ultimate protection pack we got them Right with our soul Shields take care of
Those outsoles plus we protected the Uppers with our water andan repellent That's pretty much going to protect them From everything except your haters but Y' if you're trying to get some products To protect your shoes or if you're Looking to clean them you can go to Reator.com right now use the exclusive Promo code of velvet 20 to save you 20% Off the only thing is it's only going to Be good for the first 25 orders so you Better act fast and if you guys want to See how well this sneaker cleans up just Give us a couple weeks or so we're going To get them extremely beat you know we Good for that and then we're going to Showcase how well they clean up with That being said my name is pretty boy Rob and I'll catch you on another one Peace yo Vic you got to get these things Dirty
