I spent over $400 on this pair of New Balances and it's by far one of the Wildest pairs of sneakers that I've ever Seen to be fair I'm not even sure if It's actually technically a pair of Sneakers inside this box we have got the New Balance 1906 L and I don't know what to say I Mean what can't you say about these They're like loafers but they're Sneakers all at once I've literally seen People call them snowers online I spent $431 on a pair of Snowers what am I doing the New Balance 1906 L's are a pair of sneakers that I Thought would completely flop I thought There was no way first of all that these Sneakers would ever release and in the Option hands that they did actually Release that they would do well but for Whatever reason I don't know if new Balance is just creating Ultra limited Numbers of these or maybe they're Significantly more popular than I would Have thought these shoes not only Continually sell out but also resell for Ridiculous amounts of money I bought a Pair of sneakers which is essentially a Loafer version of the 1906 RS for $430 Do I regret it yeah kind of I'm not Going to lie I wasn't planning to make This video when these sneakers first Released I was like miss me with those I Do not need those I don't want them
Anywhere near me they seem like a cursed I don't know what's going on but as time Went on and they became more and more Popular and continued to sell out I Decided you know what I've got to see What it's all about and I'm not happy About it I'm not happy that I have these I'm not happy that I spent so much money On these but hopefully you are and Hopefully you enjoy today's video Because in today's video I will be Wearing the New Balance 1906 L's and Finding out whether these shoes are Worth it so as you guys saw I just Opened these guys up why don't we take These upstairs try them on see what my Wife thinks and uh see how they fit all Right so I got a new pair of shoes to Show you on this very windy blustery Cold day what do you think those are the Most ridiculous things I've ever seen What do you mean they're trying to be a Lot of things yes I think that's the Appeal though I think that's the reason They're doing it I mean I'm not saying That they're like amazing would you wear Them I don't I don't think so I think They need to pick a lane would you be Mad if I spent $500 on them did you Business expense it's fine why do you Always think that matters that they Still your money for Content get with a Time so what are they called um I think They're like a snower like a sneaker
Loafer I think it's the the they're Going with for him is that real it's What I saw online so I don't know I'm Assuming it's real of course they have a Ridiculous name to go with it course They're definitely interesting I've Never seen anything like it so I they Definitely get an A for that a for Interest okay all right so at this point I'm going to try them on for the first Time see how they fit see if they fit Like a regular pair of New Balance 1906 RS or if they fit like I don't know just A pair of snowers I don't know if I'm Wearing the right outfit for these I uh I might try them M with a pair of dress Pants probably not the move actually They don't look bad with these jeans I'm Not going to lie they actually kind of Mess with them with these jeans maybe Jeans is the move for these actually so Sizing wise yeah they seem to fit like a 1906 R I would say they fit true to size Um and they're actually pretty Comfortable they're not bad I actually Don't hate these are they worth $500 Probably not they're kind of clean I to Mess with them okay well with sizing out Of the way let's go back to the Studio these are just as weird on foot As I thought they'd be a couple seconds Ago I said that these fit true to size And while I still think that's generally The case I do understand why some people
Are saying that these might fit a little Bit snug these are definitely more snug Than a standard pair of 1906 RS the Reason being that there are no laces and You can't tighten the shoe so of course They're a bit more snug than a standard Pair just because there's no way to Tighten them so you're kind of stuck With what you've got so if you like a Snug fit go true to size they'll fit Fine they're not really going to have Any heel slippage issues I didn't seem To have any in these um but if you like A slightly looser fit or more standard Fit I guess you can go up half a size That being said um I don't know if You're going to get that heel slippage Because again you really can't adjust The way these fit because they don't Have laces and these are not like Removable or adjustable so the new Balance Z6 RS or I guess L's that's kind Of like you're taking an L when you buy These no that's not true they're fine There's nothing wrong with them I Shouldn't be hating on these so these Shoes first released near the end of Last year in this colorway this is the Metallic silver and cream colorway the Silhouette was first teased in two other Colorways in the junior wanabi Collaboration which came in I think a Black and a white those released later On in the year I think a month or two
After these released and uh for some Reason people love them I've never seen Them on anyone's feet but I can't buy a Pair for retail so people are obviously Buying them and while sure this Particular colorway is by far the most Expensive because it's the first Colorway other colorways of this shoe The ones that are honestly significantly Worse in this colorway still are going For like $50 to $100 over retail it Doesn't make sense to me they must just Be releasing like stupid limited Quantities of these that's my guess or Maybe I'm just that old to a point where I don't know what people are rocking Anymore I don't know which one it is so This particular silhouette retails for $160 and like I said this metallic Silver colorway the first launch Colorway dropped back in September I Think it was September 16th of course if You decide that you want to grab these For probably more money than they're Worth i' made sure to link them through The YouTube shopping tab on your screen And also through affiliate links below I Don't know if I'd recommend them but hey If you're looking for a pair of snowers There you go speaking of that it seems Like with these sneakers new balance is Trying to create a silhouette that Transcends Trends it's trying to be both A 2,000 style running sneaker and a
Loafer at the same time two incredibly Popular trends at the moment and they Figured I just mash them together I Guess to be fair though New Balance Isn't going to drop a loafer out of Nowhere it doesn't make sense for them To drop a standard loafer so this is Probably the only way that they could do It and cash in on that loow for Trend And it's weird I'm not going to lie to You it's weird but I also can't lie that The more that I have these the more I Don't hate them as I mentioned when I Was outside I kind of dig the way that These look with some oversized jeans I'm Not going to lie it's probably the best Pair of pants that I've found with these I wore them with sweatpants as you've Seen and uh I've tried them with dress Pants I'm going to show a clip right Here obviously the color was wrong to Match the shoes but also it didn't look Good these are not dress shoes there is Actually a dark brown suede pair coming Out in the next couple days or maybe Next month that uh I do actually think Would go well with a navy suit but this Is not the colorway nor the material to Match with that suit so uh you know what I shouldn't have even tried it I just Wanted to experiment it went wrong According to New Balance this shoe is The Natural Evolution of what they've Been doing they've been doing mules
Which we've seen they've been doing Obviously standard sneakers and now They're sort of combining those with Loafers and creating the snower which Again it's not something you initially Would think would be good and I still Don't think it's I feel like it's so Ugly I like it I think that's what I Genuinely think that's what it is and I Feel like that's why other people like It as well I would love to know who Thought this was a good idea initially Because honestly the first time I saw These I was like what are those and uh I I'm still like that like which New Balance employee was like let's make a Sneaker loafer I'd like to meet them Because they think different but I guess With all that being said why don't we Dive into the materials and make up the New Balance 1906 L's on this particular Colorway you've got this synthetic Leather mud guard that comes in metallic Silver you've got some more synthetic Overlays in sort of a darkish gray and Then just above that you've got another Panel I guess another mudguard style Panel with a very wide open mesh and Then just above that on the toe you've Got more of this wide gray mesh Obviously being a mash up of a loafer And sneaker you don't have your standard Laces and you don't have your standard I Stay instead you have sort of a half
Tongue that features this sort of um Metallic silver strap that kind of holds A tongue in place I'm sure it has a name I just don't know what it is I know a Lot about Sneakers but not so much about Just regular shoes which sounds stupid But it's true so I'm not sure exactly What to call is um but it's there and It's got this interesting I guess Classic loafer cutout shape to it below That you've got the New Balance logo I Don't think fits the aesthetic too well But it's there nonetheless and then Moving back on the sneaker you get to This piping that wraps all the way Around the top of ankle opening and Around the tongue it's pretty stiff I'm Not going to lie and it's honestly the Least comfortable part of the shoe when You get your feet in there it does kind Of rub against your ankles or just below Your ankles a little bit but the more That you wear it the more that you're Like all right it's there it doesn't Really bother me too much I would say do Not wear these without socks because if You wear them without socks this is Going to just cut up your feet it's Going to hurt um you might be able to Get away with it if you've got like Really thick skin but I'm not someone Like that so I would always Rock these With a pair of Apothecary socks Apothecary socks specifically I am

This for a couple hours they were pretty Comfortable on foot I've got no Complaints in the comfort Department Actually more comfortable than a Standard pair of loafers and more Breathable the insole of the sneaker is This pretty thick foam insole that's got New Balance 1906 L printed on the heel It's uh soft enough and it's does a good Job of cushioning your foot obviously You do get some cushioning in the Midsole but this insole does add Probably about4 of an inch of foam Underneath your foot which is a nice Touch again sizing wise if you don't Mind a snug fit go true to size if you Want a slightly less snug fit maybe go Up half a size but keep in mind that you Cannot adjust the fit of these shoes so I would even say go smaller rather than Bigger because if you go too big you're Not going to be able to wear them unless You like double socket continuing back On the side of the sneaker you've got More of that 1906 paneling metallic Silver gray you've got 1906 L sort of I Guess pressed into the side of the Sneaker and then you've also got this TPU heel counter that comes in this sort Of uh I guess medium gray it's a very Busy upper but it would be because it's Inspired by a 2000's running sneaker Then moving down on the sneaker you get To the midsole which has been used most
Recently on the 1906 R but is actually From the New Balance 860 V2 in this Particular color way it comes in sort of An off-white or I guess saale color and You've got gray accents and silver Accents throughout the midell cushioning In the heel is absorb SP SPS as you can See right here sort of like a gel– like Material then finally moving to the Bottom of the sneaker you've got this Black rubber outsole which I believe is Called energy or an energy outsole You've also got this plastic hit in the Middle of the shoe which prevents Torsional twisting which I guess is a Nice thing especially when it was Originally a running sneaker at least The midsole was the upper was definitely Not and again in terms of comfort and Overall feel it feels like a 1906 R if You've already tried a pair of those it Feels just like that except for this Ankle opening which kind of bums me out But it's not a huge deal I don't Understand why these shoes are so Popular I don't understand why I spent $430 on these sneakers I don't get it am I going to keep these I I genuinely Don't know I couldn't tell you I don't See myself rocking these on a regular Basis so I probably won't keep them but Maybe maybe I will I don't know it Genuinely surprises me that colorways of The sneaker continue to sell out as much
As I like this colorway a lot and I Would like it more on the regular 1906 R Some of the new colorways are just real Rough like there's this green blue and Silver one coming out that just H I just I can't I can't get with it I'm sure That colorway is going to sell out some Of the other colorways that have dropped Like the black silver and tan colorway Which again on the 1906 R would look Good but on the L's it just doesn't make Sense this one sort of works because the Upper of the shoe is somewhat Monochromatic I think the brown suede One will be fine because it looks like a Regular loafer but some of these other Colorways go too hard into like the tech Running sneaker Vibe and I just don't Understand why people are buying them But they are but maybe that's why I keep Selling out maybe it's because it's so Weird and it's so wild maybe it's that Ugly duckling effect and people are just Like those are fire but I would love to Know what you guys think in the comment Section down below do you love these do You hate these I would love to know your Thoughts genuinely because I really Don't know what people think about these Because I thought that they would think One way but then when these continually Sold out I was proven wrong so let me Know what you guys think in the comment Section down below do you like any of
