Hi people welcome to the Run testers and To our head-to-head between two of the Newest sustainable shoes on the shelves We have got the Vasa Condor 3 and the High low impact both daily trainers Built for everyday miles both made in Part from plant-based materials and Trying to wean us off fossil fuel Materials both attempting to deliver Performance to rival our regular running Shoes as well so how do they compare and Is one better than the other well we're Here to help you make a smart choice Between your ecos shoes let's get into Our Hyo Impact versus vasia Condor 3 Review So when it comes to stack height then The high low impact has a 33 mil in the Hill 25 mil in the 4T for 8 mil drop Fasia Condor 3 has 37 Ms in the hill 29 Ms in the 4T also for an 8 mil drop Weightwise the vager tips the scales at 11.1 o or 314 G in the UK men's 8 and a Half test shoe size in the same shoe Size the higho impact weighs in big Chunk lighter at 9.7 o or 276 G when it Comes to price the Vasa condo will set You back £160 in the UK $200 in the US Compared to the slightly cheaper higho Impact at £50 or $165 so let's give you a quick shoe whip BR then starting with the midols well The Hyo impact has a super critical
Nitrogen injected Midol foam with added Bio Eva to increase the responsiveness And reduce the weight Hyo says that Blend delivers a 70% rebound and the Midsole is tuned for maximum response High cushion and moderate support the Vages midsole features 43% sugarcane Based Eva 27% Amazonian wild rubber There's an L foam cushion section in the Mid sole that's part latex part sugar Cane Eva as well that aims to offer High Shock absorption it's also heat Resistant and should have good long-term Resiliency AK it will retain its bounce Inasia says the foam has 80% energy Return a big leap on from its previous Shoes there's also a pack heel insert Here to boost comfort and reduce the Impact on Landings if you're Landing Further back up top the Condor 3 has Engineered mesh ERS made from 100% Recycled polyester with added TPU panels For structuring to help with hold and Security there's also some TPU overlays Around the toe box the Hyo impact Features lightweight knitted uppers made From 100% biobased nylon derived from Cter Beans it's much more soft than Pliable but it also has a dwr coating to Boost water repellency both shoes have Fairly plush padded heel collors the Vages are a bit narrow the Hyo and more Contoured the Condor 3 has flat wrapping Tongues with internal sort of booty wrap
That start sort of Midway inside the Shoe while the Hyo has a more padded Tongue with the same kind of stitching Or stitched in booty layer the vager Also has lock style laces and external Heel clip for of security if you flip Both of these shoes over you've got two Very different quite interesting designs Uh the Hyo has these kind of sweeps of 2 And2 mil thick rubber the hoses are Inspired by Formula 1 tires for their Ability to displace water and increased Traction there are some cutout to reduce Weight the Condor 3 has a generous Covering of really quite fairly thick Out soole rubber it's also got these Kind of little studs on it that enhance The grip but there's sort more than a Bit of a sort of Trail shoe Vibe as I Said in the review of this Shoe when it comes to fit around in a UK And a half in both of these shoes I Think they both hold really well in the Heels they both get good lock down Across the top of the midfoot the one Difference I will say there's a huge Amount more Flex in the uppers and Across the toe box in the Hyo impact That really flexible soft upper lets you Wiggle your toes it's almost like there Is no sort of toe box across the top it Does it feels a little bit weird it Almost feels like you sort of got like a Half naked foot in some ways it's very
Slipper likee in that sense bit like the Old Nike 3ze the Condor 3 much more Traditional you know you can feel that Toe box across the top of the toes a Little bit but in a normal way and yeah Plenty roomy there's enough wiggle room In there they just you can feel a little Bit more held there I think overall I Would recommend going true to sizing Both of these shoes I had no problems on Fit in terms of hold and lock down all Of those things so Yeah so in testing I've done 45 kilomet In the Vasa Condor 3 and around 50 km in The Hyo impact most of my miles in the Vasa was slower and easy with the odd up Paace mile I've done lots of easy but Also some half marathon pace faster Interval work in the Hyo impact all of That was on road and light off Offroad Pods the first thing to say is that both Of these shoes are a vast Improvement on Past sustainable shoes the first thing You notice is how much more cushioned Comfortable and enjoyable the ride is on Both shoes it's a real step-on from the Eco shoes of the sort of recent past I Described the veger Condor 3 has got a Standard easy day Fair a big cushion Stack with plenty of protection and a Bit of Bounce this is a shoe that's got Some aex Joe nimus Vibes going on and Offers good sort of casual Runner Everyday wear crossover the Hyo impact
Kind of cuts a unique path there's a Real cushion springiness to the ride Here with a good combination of Protection from the road on easy miles But some bounce and energy coming back As well and that makes it a punchier Proposition it's sinky but not too sinky With a kind of sock-like Sensation from The way the upper fit and flex now the Vager Condor 3 somehow feels more Traditional by comparison to the Hyo the Hyo offers something different here the Whole shoe is somehow more pliable Overall and I found myself wanting a Little more stiffness actually in the Midsole with the vager I actually just Wanted a little bit less weight now I Also did a side by-side mile test with One shoe on each foot and here is what I Found so I've just done the sidebyside Mile I've got the vager Condor 3 on my Left foot I've got the higho impact on The right foot and as I expected from The run test that I've done in this you Know the major difference here is that One feels much sort of softer and more Pliable in terms of that overall midso There's a lot more movement in the Hyo Impact the Condor a little bit stiffer It's a little bit firmer on The Landings And you get a little bit more kind of Connected roll through off the bottom of That shoe because of that stiffness that That comes from you know I think for got
That kind of stri structured out soole And there's just a bit more um yeah it's Hard to sort of describe but the the Higho impact if you look at the videos When I sort of slow them down you can See there's a bit more movement across The whole mids salt it kind of cushions And cradles but the whole mids salt will Move with your foot it's a very Different sort of ride than aot of other Shoes the vager Condor 3 is just a much More traditional ride in that sense the Other thing I think you'll notice They're both quite bouncy shoes they Both got quite a lot of spring in them I Think the vager Condor is probably more Natural when you're running kind of easy The Hyo impact works best when you're Running fast and you really feel that Difference when you've got them side by Side you you can just land regularly in The uh in The vasia Condor I think with The higho impact to get the most out of The shoe or at least to make it feel More natural more clippy you you have to Be landing 4ot and really engaging that Foam and as I said earlier I think that Kind of Firma platform increases the Stability in The vager Condor 3 so if You need a more stable and structured Shoe yeah this this sidebyside test has Really borne that out that the the vager Condor 3 is going to be the shoe for you If you like it kind of soft and a bit
More flexible and you know just overall Slipper like I think the higho impact is An interesting One verdict thenon first up when it Comes to Performance and matching Regular running shoes these are both Commendable shoes in the sustainable Shoe space now it's really quite hard to Judge genuine Eco credentials of shoes But when it comes to the ride they're Now much closer to any other sort of Normal shoe that you'd get out there and There are things that I change about Both shoes but they successfully protect And deliver Comfort on the easy miles Now how I differentiate them I think the Condor 3 platform is more stable and Dependable so if you need that for Slower Paces that's probably your best Bet however if you're looking for the Better bet for faster efforts the Lighter and livelier super critical Hyo Impact midsole I think performs better Than the Condor 3 the vager Condor 3 Isn't devoid of life but it's a bit too Heavy though I think it will have better Overall durability perhaps because of The extra grip and overlays on the Condor 3 so if I had to choose one shoe I think i' probably go high low impact It's not perfect at slower Paces but I Think it's got more overall versatility And Pace range and it's slightly cheaper So there you have it that's our
